đź’ˇ Next 2 Classes are Amazon and Assassin - Here's Why

Next 2 classes are going to be Amazon and Assassin. Here’s why that’s the case.

In Diablo 4, currently we have -
Barbarian
Druid (who was not in D3)
Sorceress

In Diablo 3 we had -
Crusader (who is an upgraded Paladin)
Monk (who is a different take on Paladin)
Necromancer (a new take on D2 Necromancer)
Witch Doctor (who is a different take on Necromancer)
Demon Hunter (an expanded version of Bowazon… but not Amazon)

This leaves us with Amazon and Assassin. They are the perfect candidates to return to Diablo 4.

We do see small portions of these 2 classes in Monk and Demon Hunter, the way we see the Necromancer in the Witch Doctor. But Witch Doctor was different enough that Necromancer was brought in.

I think Demon Hunter and Monk are so different from Amazon and Assassin that I think it is worth bringing Amazon and Assassin back.

That would be awesome!

Since the D3 Necromancer is pretty different from D2 Necromancer, and since we already have a minion class (Druid) in the game, this makes Necromancer a prime candidate for Diablo 4’s first expansion.

I like all D2 classes and D3 classes, so I would love to see any of them make a return. But personally, my favourite class in D3 was Witch Doctor.

Witch Doctor has a very unique identity in the Diablo games since he is not a gothic, medieval, european type of character. So it would be interesting to see him come into this strange world of Diablo 4 and have him contrast many of its elements. He would have a very unique look. On top of that I would love to see him come back in a very dark Avatar! D3 did a great disservice to him with it’s cartoony graphics. Diablo 4 Witch Doctor would be menacing to both friends and foes!

Picture Zombie Bears… but in the style of Diablo 4!

Yea…

So I would love to see Witch Doctor return in an expansion down the road.

Anyways so those are my predictions and preferences. What about you guys?

Which classes would you guys like to see in Diablo 4?

My bets are on a return to the roots.

Paladin/Crusader/Monk type class
Amazon/Hunter ranged type class maybe with traps

Expansion Classes

Summoner + ranged class (necro/witch doctor). As a theme I would go with blood magic and bone for this expansion. Super gory with lots of lore and history. Skill items based on exploration and learning, much like the trailer video that has the guy reading runes.

Rogue/thief/assassin. Close combat leather wearing Dex and Int type class. Stealth, evasion, daggers, poison, pickpocket, etc. Might be a place for traps.

I never understood what people liked about the assassin class. It was boring, and the concept itself, setting traps, it’s all boring. Boring, boring, boring! The monk is also boring. A boring, silly, boring class. And it’s weird too. Very weird and boring. I hope they bring back paladin and amazon, and–of course–the necromancer.

I’m thinking Paladin and Amazon as per that Reddit leak from 4 months ago that nailed 99% of the blizzcon reveal. Not sure how they’re planning a male zon, tho.

Just call the class Hunter or something similar. They said the classes would not be gender locked.

I would be ok with Amazons only being women, with varying body shapes, some large masculine-looking (like Barbarian women), some skinny feminine-looking (like the wonder woman movie lol), some old and wrinkly, some young and hot. That’s 4 different looks right there.

And perhaps Paladins could be composed of all men to balance it out if they want.

Really? Where? !!!

Why Templar? How is that different from Paladin?

Ama will come… you’ll see

I was thinking (dangerous prospect) and I like the idea of the Rogue “class” returning. Not necessarily the one attached to the Sisters. A noble character that has had to turn to, shall we say, less scrupulous means of survival because of the harshness of the world.

I could see it being a ranged character as tradition but also specializing in get in/get out male combat.

My bets on Necromancer and Amazon.

Who’s Ama?

Thief - the three non Scholars are clearly thieves. From the Thiefs Guild? Hmmmm?

Templar - to round out the three…from D3.

I’m guessing that with launch we’ll get a straight up Hunter Class. Bows for ranged attacks, sharp pointy things for when things get close, and traps to cover your rear or pull beasites into.

Plus a Hunter should give some nice dialog with Druid class  I can see epic hunter/druid PVP battles being pretty popular.

I think the person means Amazon, or some sort of Hunter ranged class.

:astonished: I like that!

It will be for sure some kind of holy knight (Paladin) and a bow character.

For the second I would say thief (bcs we saw grave robbers in the cinematic), with bow, traps, etc…

when we got to the cave of the assassin in diablo 3…I got so excited to hopefully see my fav character as an NPC…nothing… :sob:

My bet is on paladin (Described in Diablo 2 as a Natural party leader) and amazon because somewhere I saw a bow or crossbow looking at screenshots or in game play (don’t specifically remember when).

Since we have a Summoning class which is the Druid I think the necromancer and assassin will return during the expansion and most likely the assassin will be expanded upon more than it’s Diablo 2 counterpart. People do forget though when the initial release of Diablo 3 game out, the demon Hunter played almost the exact same way as the Assassin laying down traps and drawing the enemies to them.
