Buffing underused rune words would be cool. As long as its not over the top.
Exactly. More viable options would be great.
Thatâs the issue though, what is over the top? Should every character have comparable aoe?
Should each char have an easier teleport?
Should each char get items buffed to wear 900 Mf like the sorc, or 1k+ for the barb?
Where does it stop? Constant updates and power creep? Lots of pvp players will just quit.
It becomes over the top when they are not comparable to the runewords that are used the most.
I dont think its Change skills base function more of a if its not use because Damage or Cost makes it not viable. Thats rebalanced. I wouldnt think they would add AOE damage to leap attack or Vengance or something. Because that massively changes the skill.
@artpop
Yeah, if they over correct that will be a problem. They cant be heavy handed if they do it.
Going off on a tangent but I love in D2 that not all classes can do everything well and they act very differently. In D3 and most other arpgâs the classes get so blurred together with similiar skills itâs realistically just a reskinned character with slightly different skills.

âHey, Jim, what if we just give WW +10000 percent damageâ
âSure, bob, sure.â
Leave d2 alone when it comes to balance.
Pretty cool to see another survey go out, a lot of these features seem interesting itâs just up to them where(mods) and when.
The poster stated he believe the changes were just for A Season like the runeword updates.
We dont know if skill changes would be grandfathered into a characters when it moves to NL or not. But if they arent grandfathered in then the balances changes die at the end of each season, then just play NL for no skill balancing.
Once again I didnât receive this survey. Doesnât matter.
They donât even share any feedback on the result of these surveys.
It is really interesting to see people guessing motivation of such survey instead of result.
We already established this is a terrible argument to make. There are ladder only items. Forcing someone to play nl because they dicked up a remaster would cause many people to quit.
I play NL all the time, If a ladder at skill changes that for some reason I didnt like or no Runewords I was really interested in, I would just play my NL characters till the shortened ladder resets.
That is utterly ridiculous.
Forcing someone to play NL where you canât find some of the best items in the game would be irrefutable evidence that they dunced the remaster.
Forcing someone to play non ladder? There are plenty of people that dont even both with ladder if they dont want X runeword. Or if they have it already for a character build. I know I dont bother with ladder unless I need some runeword for a new character. Plenty of the the players dont give a toss about the Race to the top.
Dang so them improving skills on ladder and possibly underused runewords would âforceâ you into playing NL huh? Honestly sounds like you should just stick to current D2.

If they force us to play without these items just to play our favourite nostalgic build, then they have failed at this remaster. If they allow new runewords to penetrate nonladder, then they have also failed.
Caveat- a new, optional realm is fine, because then it doesnât dick up the gameplay as we know it.
You could still play your nostalgic build on ladder. Youâd just be able to kill things more efficiently.
You should stick to D3 then? See how that works? Itâs stupid.
You reading? Its not new runewords its balance to under used runewords. Increasing the Enhanced Damage, Attack Speed, Cast Speed, Maybe % to cast Skill increase chance or skill level.
I wouldnt want them to redesign from the ground up the runewords.
This is called power creep, d2 is easy enough as it is, even with offshoot builds.
