New interview regarding QoL changes

This could be the case, but the survey results would mean nothing, as players’ answers would vary Re: d2r and d4.

Not actually possible, because Immortal and 4 work on completely different systems and some of the survey questions were explicitly about changing D2 skills, specifically buffing underused and underperforming ones.

They did state in that interview that giving a larger inventory could lead to it not feeling like d2.

A charm inventory is extra inventory space.

We will see if they change their mind.

A bigger inventory and a charm inventory are not the same thing.

A bigger inventory means you can carry more charms. That’s bad.

A charm inventory is a totally different system.

All they confirmed is no larger inventory. That’s it.

Fair enough, it’s actually 2 inventories.

Big semantic difference there. It’s still a huge balance shift and changes the feel of the game.

Not really.

And in both surveys, the change was listed as “QOL”, not a balance change. So clearly they disagree with you as well.

They could list skill and item changes as QoL as well, or a 6th act, still doesn’t make it true.

(or it could be true, both a QoL and a balance shift, they’re not mutually exclusive)

They didn’t though. Skill and item changes were clearly listed under balance changes.

Charm inventory was under QOL.

Sorry but if it’s between your opinion and the official Blizzard survey, the official Blizzard survey wins every time.

Like I said, I´m obviously not sure about this.

But designing surveys is often way more complex than it seems on the first view. Eventually it´s also a mixture of both - I don´t know.

But thinking this is 100% about D2R AND also thinking they just gonna change everything because a majority might have stated they think they want that?
I would be very careful there.

But some people clutch at this straws heavily, understandable, since it really doesn´t look bright for them.

Pointless, I don’t think a larger inventory is a drastic change at all … that doesn’t mean a disadvantage for anyone … the charm inventory should be the same size as the normal one, i.e. twice as big …
and you’d better change the color of the Shako … the Shako currently looks like Slaimer from the Ghostbusters

No one said they’d change everything. The only one here throwing hyperbole around is you, not us. =P

We just said expect more changes, like the Devs said multiple times during that recent interview.

QoL can make the game feel different. That’s why they keep saying inventory management is a big part of the game.

QoL is still a stretch but they likely put it as QoL since that’s what the proponents say it is, unlike straight skill buffs.

Maybe! Maybe not.

But until they say different, Blizzard themselves labeled a charm inventory as QOL, not a balance change. So as far as what their word on the matter is, that’s all we have to go on.

People who are so inclined to quote and overquote “the same D2 you know a love, preserved” should be able to understand the logic behind “Blizzard said this, explicitly, so it must be true until proven otherwise”.

Hey, I´m all in for the ingame clock!

But we haven´t even gotten that one yet. Its been 2,5 months and we haven´t heared about ANY additional changes.

I´m just stating how the situation looks like right now.

We’re also not even out of Alpha yet, and they have an hypothetical 7 months left to release it to respect their promise of releasing in 2021.

Acting like the product is finished is kinda weird.

Regardless of whether they labeled it as QoL or not, they have said that inventory management is part of Diablo and is not changing. A charm inventory would drastically change inventory management.

Not really.

You’d go back to town to unload your loot less often.

That’s it.

Having to go back to town every single time something drops because your inventory is full of charms isn’t fun or good game design, and a full charm inventory is basically expected to farm efficiently at endgame.

It’s not that big a change. I’ll have to buy TP scrolls a bit less, that’s all.

In the interview they explicitly said having to go back to town less often would be a change they would not make, when talking about the larger inventory.

A larger inventory isn’t the same as a charm inventory and the effects are different.

Ya gotta stop obsessing over those oranges when we’re talking about apples.

Going back to town every 5-10 minutes because of a full inventory is completely fine and the expected behavior of the current inventory. Going back every 30 seconds is not.

Well you don´t have to use an inventory full of charms in that case.

It´s your decision to do that - the game is not that hard that you´re required to do so.

And it´s also your decision to pick something up - or not.

This stuff contributes to the uniqueness of D2 - and gladly Blizzard knows that very well.
