you got mega mega mega super duper lucky mate. You’re in the 0.1% RNG wise for drops…at the other end of the pool lol…took me just under 3400 legendary item drops to get a primal in s20 lol…so much for 1 in 400 odd lol.
Neither did mine, as can be seen at the end of the video I embedded.
Of the ones I’ve seen so far they have Intelligence, one Primary Property, one Secondary Property and their “Legendary Power” of spawning a Murloc Pet.
As shown in the video, I tried equipping it on Eirena, since her main stat is Intelligence. But, like many items, she cannot spawn the Murloc. So, it becomes merely a collectors’ item. (At least for me).
Could be. I may do some more tests runs just to see if my D3 RNG luck holds up. Usually, my [insert any game here] RNG luck is really bad.
Too bad I wasn’t trying to get the Cosmic Wings. I’m still looking for those. Just not that hard… anymore.
But, we’re not talking about Primal items here. And you know that many items are just more common than others. (I wish Blizzard never told us anything in this game was “weighted”. Ever since, I’ve felt like I’m playing with a “stacked deck”).
same here… and it only took me 3 or 4 runs – it dropped the first time I killed the shark. I’ve been trying to get Griswold’s sword since… hundred of runs… 2 anvil of fury… no sword. Go figure !
I did several hundred runs for Griswald’s without luck. Then stopped bothering. A year later, I was doing a quick campaign run from start to leoric’s for his crown in a season and saw the bench, clicked on it and voila. Took a split second to register and them my jaw dropped and I did a happy dance.
I was just demonstrating my typical bad luck with D3 RNG.
Just finally found this ammy. Been farming it every once in a blue moon. I will add this:
It has been mentioned that it can be dropped on any level. However, while I was originally farming it on T1, the unique would consistently only drop a single item. I decided to up it to T16 to see what would happen, and it dropped two items. The first that hit the ground was a yellow, and then the blue ammy appeared (or I just saw the yellow first?). But theoretically, if I was running this on a lower tier, I might not have received the ammy and only gotten the yellow item. So I would recommend higher levels for more drops and a greater chance of finding it. Good luck, fellow adventurers!
20 odd runs with my console HC char last night on T16 and 1 appearance for moonshark - and he only dropped a single item. Again, I am of the firm belief that the spawning of moonshark and the item itself are much rarer on console than the PC version of the game.
I only based my comment on a variety of YouTube videos that indicate that the frequency of the unique monster is higher than what I am experiencing.
PS I already have the xmog (SC). Was trying to get it for my HC characters. I actually have all of the Blue xmogs, including Griswald’s edge and Wirt’s leg.
You have to be lvl45 for it to drop, or OVER lvl45?
Ah nvm, got it. Took me about a dozen times, Shark appeared about half the time. Dropped it once. Rest of the time it will drop some gold piles and one rare/leg.
Just making sure you got the correct Sewers - the entrance next to Belial waypoint.
Good thing it only has 1 floor, and the dead-end passage with the spawn location always points diagonally upwards to the right (north east).
It’s a Rubble Pile that you can’t target. When you approach it, the screen starts to shake and 3 seconds later the unique Sand Shark bursts through it from below.
Maybe I got lucky. One day I’d restart the game 50+ times to get ONE Cursed Peat, and another day I’d accidentally get it as a bounty the first time.
Now I’m trying to get Griswold’s Worn Edge, and out of ~25 restarts the anvil appeared only 3 times and always dropped a crappy rare.
Sure am. You didn’t read the entire thread, I already have the xmog, in fact, I have all of the Blue xmogs (SC). I am trying to get it with my HC character.
Well aware of this.
I think the longest stretch I had before getting the cursed peat was in s20 and was 91 runs without it spawning…it spawned on the 92nd run. On average, it’s probably closer to 40-50 runs for each spawn for me.
Good luck! I did about a 100 runs a few seasons back and gave up. I ended up getting it s20 by pure accident - was doing a sim run for 1 hour run of the entire game in campaign mode and it dropped. I also had Wirt’s leg drop in s20 when doing a bounty. I’d probably spent around 100 runs on it as well.
What is eluding me is the cosmic wings and rainbow portrait. Near 300 runs for the former and probably 500 runs for the latter…still nada. I seem to be consistently in the lowest tier for RNG drops for the game and it’s very frustrating.
The pet from this blue item only appears while wearing the ammy. It is not like a standard pet. So you have to give up a more powerful legendary ammy and wear this blue item to have it present. Don’t expect to have the same dps if you want this pet active.
Also, the pile of rubble can be destroyed by some of your powers when approaching (such as the monk’s sweeping wind spell). I am not sure if the unique will spawn after you destroy the rubble. So you might need to approach carefully or maintain a safe distance while still triggering the spawn.
I am pretty sure that the way you destroy the rubble has no influence on the likelihood of getting the spawn or not… Anyway in my case I found it after about 20 tries.
Hmm. Too bad the amulet cannot be extracted. Now, I have to consider farming for it. Probably won’t as I’ve given up on all the “chance of” stuff. I mean, technically, 0% is “a” chance.
Also note that this Pet does not pick up Gold. It is merely a “novelty” item.
Are you sure? I thought that too on a couple of runs with my UE/CCT DH. But, I think the pile of trash explodes when you get within a certain range of it. (When Moontooth Dreadshark bursts out from it).
That’s because only certain Legendary items can be extracted and The Murlocket is a Magic (blue) item. Either way, you’d still have to give up a much better choice for a simple visual effect.
