I think multiboxing is cheating and definitely should be banned in D4.
They only say multiboxing is allowed in WoW but only if you manually control each one yourself and don’t use any automation. There is no official statement from Blizzard that it’s allowed in Diablo.
I really hope Blizzard make it clear that Diablo 4 is not WoW and make sure activity like this is banned.
Multiboxing is allowed both in WoW and Diablo franchises. You were already provided the link where Blizzard said multiboxing in D3 does not violate the rules. Automating gameplay does.
Edit for others. Blizzard has stated that multiboxing is allowed in D3 in multiple Blue posts authored by Vaneras and Grimiku… I have provided 4 links proving this. The latter 3 links all are for the same Blizzard post.
Why would they want to limit another sale of the game? That is just not going to happen. Some people like playing with themselves, and if they can afford it, they should be allowed to, as long as they don’t automate one of the accounts.
Give what up? I’m making a post about something that can legitimately affect the gameplay experience of Diablo 4 negatively. Why are you telling me to “give it up”. Go to other posts and tell actual trolls this or maybe you are one of the trolls.
This proves you wrong.
"On November 3, 2020, we posted an update to our policy for input broadcasting software, and soon thereafter, we began taking action against accounts found to be using third party software to automatically mirror keystrokes to multiple game clients. We find that, like full automation of play, multiple-account mirroring disturbs the gameplay experience for the vast majority of players who control a single account at a time.
We will now additionally prohibit the use of all software and hardware mechanisms to mirror commands to multiple World of Warcraft accounts at the same time, or to automate or streamline multi-boxing in any way. Players found to be in violation of this policy are subject to account actions. These actions can include warnings, account suspensions and, if necessary, permanent closure of the player’s World of Warcraft account(s), as activities which effectively replicate automated gameplay are contrary to the terms and conditions of the Blizzard End-User License Agreement (EULA).
We urge all players to cease using any means of mirroring gameplay across multiple WoW accounts immediately, in order to maintain uninterrupted access to World of Warcraft."
The only official statement from Blizzard is about wow. Link an official Blizzard statement on a Blizzard website that states otherwise.
And here is an official statement from Blizzard saying that any automation or mirroring software is bannable.
Otherwise you’re wrong and the fact you admitted to using ISBoxer means you should be banned.
Blizzard only made this statement in regards to wow.
The fact they need to make the statement to show it’s allowed shows that without this statement for Diablo it’s not allowed.
There is no statement saying it’s ok in Diablo.
And the fact Blizz devs see that the player base really care about Diablo being a fair, non p2w experience. I very much expect them to never allow anything like this.
Diablo 4 has a lot to prove and banning people for multiboxing is just one of the things they need to get right.
Think what you like no one in their right mind would take on board views from toxic trolls that want cheating mechanics and free trade so they can p2w.
You’re all being phased out.
All I care about is D4 being a great game not these toxic forums.
And I’ll be sure to keep making posts that make sure stuff like this is kept out of Diablo and all the trolls and toxic haters are exposed.
The game is not being made for cheaters and trolls.
Blizzard has officially stated that multiboxing is allowed in D3.
Grimiku, the D3 community manager at the time posted this:
[Blue Post]
Re: why is multiboxing not illegal
Grimiku / Community Manager
For Diablo III, multiboxing walks the strange line of being something we technically allow, but don’t officially support.
For clarity, players are allowed to have multiple Battle.net accounts, and each of them can have a Diablo III: Reaper of Souls license (one per account). There is no limit to the number of Battle.net accounts a single user can have, so long as no more than three of them have Battle.net Balance*. There is no restriction to how many of these accounts can be online at once, but the methods to do so may not be supported. We do not support third-party software, and third-party software that automates gameplay is not allowed. Accounts found to be using third-party software that automates gameplay risk being closed, possibly permanently.
In other words, you can have multiple accounts, and you can be online with all of them at one time. We don’t support multiboxing in Diablo III, however, and some software used to facilitate multiboxing may violate our policies, so do so at your own risk.
Multiboxing is perfectly fine and allowed. Blizzard has stated this. They won’t provide any official support for it but they don’t consider it as cheating as long as all instances are manually and individually controlled by the user.
Mirroring user inputs is prohited. Blizzard has stated this. Using anything that automates gameplay is not allowed.
Multiboxing is fine, ISBoxer is not since it mirrors user inputs. As it was already stated in another thread. If the ISBoxer dev removed the input mirroring, the software would no longer violate the terms of service.
in WoW explicitly. Blizzard has never made a statement that the WoW rule change applied to D3. I would not do it in D3, but EVERY Blizzard communication banning key mirrorng software only says it applies to WoW and has not mentioned any other Blizzard game.
I have done multi boxing with D3 for years. And in the beginning I even used IS boxer before they changed the stipulations about action mirroring.
In the beginning, you had your computer setup with 2 to 4 game instances at once. (I usually ran 2).
I would then use the boxing program (which you had to pay for) to allow me to operate the games in sync.
However, that was always a major PITA, even when it wasn’t bannable. Keeping the characters in sync was difficult, and required setting up skills that could be mirrored, (Often the same class with same build) and then having walking speeds match, cooldowns be similar, etc.
Such a PITA, that after the first year of subbing to the boxer service, I ended it and swapped to just running the two games on two monitors alt-tabbing between them and manually playing the accounts. Which is currently perfectly allowed to do.
So while I agree that automated methods should be prevented, being able to play more than one account in the same game should be allowed to continue. It isn’t cheating, if anything you have to work harder as you are manually controlling two accounts at once.
