honestly this thread should have never been made since this issue is addressed only towards wow at this time… unless they update there tos or eula with it then it will mean its for all of there games
There is no TOS. There is a EULA that applies to all games and it has always prohibited any software that automates gameplay. Further, it has always prohibited any unauthorized third party software for use with Blizz games. Blizzard has officially approved any third party software used to MB. While Blizz has not considered the simple key clone (one action per game client) to be automation, there are other things that software can do. At this point they will now action the software as a whole (in WoW), even if you don’t use the extended features.
They have taken the step at this point to share that they now will be auctioning the MB software under the automation rules.
While that warning was given in WoW where it is most common, you can expect the same policy across Blizz if they can implement it. They tend to have unified policies and account consequences.
Of course, MB in D3 is primarily a solo activity with little impact on anyone else so it may be low priority for action. WoW has the highest disruption so is the first focus.
the technique, method, or system of operating or controlling a process by highly automatic means , as by electronic devices, reducing human intervention to a minimum
One key press for actions across multiple accounts. Yup, checks out. Thanks for the lesson.
“to make a process in a factory or office operate by machines or computers, in order to reduce the amount of work done by humans and the time taken to do the work:” https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/automating
It seems to fit just fine. Pressing 1 button instead of 4 => work reduced.
“factory or office” is quite weird in a definition though
Edit: DonMartins definition is better. And it still checks out.
Broadcasting software is not considered automation by blizzard. They are banning the Broadcasting software because it is commonly used in association with botting programs.
…reducing human intervention to a MINIMUM. Should i tell you to learn the definition of minimum, which is actually close to non-existing ?
Do you have any idea how hard is for something to actually Multiboxing and how many key’s and movements and precise action keys one needs to do in order to Multibox ?!
That’s … not the definition of MINIMUM human intervention. Please educate yourself before speaking.
They really don’t consider one key press per account as automation. You can do it with a hardware solution too. As long as each action per account required a human button press, they allowed it. It is the more advanced and common uses of that software they are targeting by prohibiting use at all.
This has always been a hot topic for argument among players vs Blizzard.
its a slippery slope i agree however rules arent limited to just one interpretation after all emptying a cup of ice on a sidewalk while technically not considered littering is still within the legal definition of such and can lead to fine and possibly greater penalty
can i get one question answered tho --dont bring ur hate for them from wow this is only hate from D3 community
how is multiboxing hurt u as a player in diablo 3 for u to hate them so much?? if u join there grp and hes 3 boxing or dual boxing u have the right to leave or stay… and if he joins u with 3 or 2 u can kick him because ur the leader of the lobby… so i ask u why bring this up on diablo 3 forums when there not really any atlercations with multiboxers in the D3 community…
I have no problem with multi boxing. I do have a problem with the software that automates it. Now if you say you are tabbing between multiple game screens and controlling each character with their own key strokes and commands - great. More power to you.
