So I have been looking for players to build a team to push GR and farm Paragon. It came to my realization (after having not played D3 for a number of seasons), there is an overwhelming amount of players who reached Paragon above 4K within just 4 weeks starting this season. I went to their community page (over 1000 members) and realized that they openly shared and discussed about how best to utilize their bots, to do all the hard work. No wonder how on earth some of them with Paragon over 6k still struggles with GR147…In short, they never truly earned their Paragons.
I am not sure how Blizzard allows this sort of lazy and uninspiring playstyle to be so pervasive. To my surprise, there is no mechanism to report these behaviors/players to Blizzard either.
Cheating kills legit and fair competition and in turn kills a game; it is now to the point that aiming for the leaderboard is just meaningless - well unless the competition is about how best to use bots.
This issue has been on-going for years with minimal action being taken against these cheaters.
I agree with you that legit players are discouraged to continue playing and pushing GRs while cheaters run wild.
I never understood how cheating/botting etc is any fun and most of these botters eventually get banned. If you look at the top player on the leaderboards most of them don’t have any progress before season 23…they got banned and just re buy the game with different emails.
They dont even need a new email though? Just have to rebuy the game. Its not a account ban? Its only the game license for diablo and obv all their progress will be deleted. So if they get banned on diablo it wont affect their wow account or whatever. Atleast thats what ive been told.
Yup, you cant beat players who can play all day and somehow play all night while they are sleeping lol. That’s why I dont really aim to push LBs at all, I’m just like “If I get a higher rank I get a higher rank I guess”, im not going to stress about getting higher rank knowing that there are cheaters out there with higher damage due to botting…
In a season with power creep from ethereals and people running 126s in 4man in 1min30 avg it isnt that strange to reach 4k. Are there cheaters among them probably, are all 4k+ players cheaters also no.
You mean on their own private/public cheating forum they are discussing how to cheat best? Also not very strange to discus cheating among cheaters.
There is tho, they have a hack team Hacks@Blizzard.com. But dont expect to see immediate action, they will need to investigate and usualy there is a banwave, no single occasional bans usualy.
You can still aim for a personal best, tbh 1.6k in this seas is not that much, you wont be able to compete with nolifers or even 3k “normal” people anyway.
what these guys do is challenging each other how much paragon they can get before they get banned. they know they will get banned and that is exactly what drives them.
fun fact: true botters don’t give a rats a$$ about leaderboards, all of you don’t have to worry that they are competing with you in the 100-1000 ranks…
I can totally see that in this game at least, farming keystones and bounty mats is Imo very not fun, so being able to just focus on the fun bits while still having the rewards from the annoying bits certainly has some attraction.
That said I would never cheat in a multiplayer game.
Probably because most builds there is incomplete and generally clunky as hell to play, ergo not fun.
