Instant Crash When Pressing Play

Same here. Frustrating.

Was having the same issue, apparently problem was my graphics. Disabled my onboard graphics and it booted up. Of course it runs so slow that it takes 5 mins to get through the openings and then it freezes so still canā€™t play. This is a joke, Iā€™m reminded why I havenā€™t purchased anything by Blizzard in years.

I am having this issue as well ā€“ Updated Win, deleted driver and reinstalled driver, no change. Screen goes black, then error.

Just a note to those who pass through, D2R is only supported on Windows 10, including the Beta.

If running Win10, thereā€™s reports that updating graphics drivers has help in some cases.

My Sophos virus protection blocked the .exe to execute. After I played a game for about 15 minutes. I got the following error in Sophos.

Malicious behavior prevented. An attempt to exploit an application vulnerability was prevented. When running C:\Program Files (x86)\Diablo II Resurrected Beta\Game.exe on Windows 10.

I unblocked on Sophos, but now Iā€™m getting the crash everytime I press the play button in the main menu

Requires windows 10 sadly

The future is uncertain, but since the day D2Rā€™s system requirements were posted, thereā€™s been no indication that itā€™s going to support anything older.

I just mentioned it for expectationā€™s sake.

I really hope that is not the case. I do have an integrated graphics card but also a dedicated GTX 970. I was able to play Alpha on this machine no issues.

Also, it is really appreciated that people are posting their individual error codes (be sure to actually submit it to Blizzard as well by clicking the close button with the send to Blizz checkbox enabled.

They ARE working on it. I know that much. I donā€™t think they have solid leads yet.

  • Some are due to not having Win 10. No other OS is supported on PC.
  • Some are due to not meeting other system requirements.
  • Some persist even though we meet system requirements, have updated Win 10, updated game, updated graphics drivers, game installed in default directory that the launcher put it in.

The same issue is happening here. Super disappointing.

Same error here, this is my crash report:

Can confirm, i disabled the onboard graphics card and it worked for the first time in 3 hours. I believe its a graphics card related issue, almost 99% certain

I did this, also works and also experiencing the same slugishness

Iā€™m on integrated graphics and it is indeed a no goā€¦ actually when I first played it, I was able to create a character and was getting crash on making a game. So I realized I had pending windows update and my graphics needed a driver update. Straight to black screen after updates. If I completely uninstall the graphics driver, it loads, oddlyā€¦ but freezes on main menu.

As soon as i disabled the onboard graphics card, i could run it, no error.

I re-enabled it just now, crashing same as before. Graphics card related issue
