It was fine when it was a simple suggestion. But when it become aggressive idea pushing - it is not ok at all.
Also, I realized that personal looters not only want to add personal loot, but they also want to remove FFA loot (most of them really hate it) and not agree to add FFA loot option to other games (D4 specifically). That is really upsets.
So, I see only one option to preserve FFA loot, at least in D2R: completely reject any personal loot suggestions.

Where have you seen most ploot supporters advocating for the removal of FFA drops? Most want it to be optional at game creation.

And we’ve said if they need blizzard to make them their own ploot server then that is cool, but the demands still come.
I don’t even know why there’s all this arguing back and forth on here, but people keep creating threads about it both ways. Blizzard isn’t changing anything else for launch, so people need to wait until they talk about possible updates. Blizzard already sent out the surveys they wanted to earlier. Who knows if they were for D4 or possible changes to D2R, but all these topics about ploot are pointless right now. Let’s wait and see how launch goes.

Just watch some threads in D3 section of this forum. There are lots of “suggestions” for D2R.
Just because a couple of people might have said it does not mean that idea has any traction. The majority of people who want ploot want it as an option, not for FFA to be removed.

I don’t care either way what happens. I will say I will probably group less without private loot because personally I enjoy killing things and with FFA loot, wether I like it or not, I ended up just trying to pick up loot over focusing on using my skills.
The funniest thing I find is the FFA looters stating how ploot makes people leeches, I believe in both systems your going to have leeches and potentially even more rampamt in FFA as you can pick up everyones loot and just not kill anything and focus on loot pick up instead.
Either way I don’t see why both systems can’t exist without a toggle. It appears the FFA looters fear not having enough people to play their system which is odd because they seem to feel it’s the superior system and if that is the case then why be afraid of not having enough people to play, if anything you should say bring on the Ploot system so you can see it fall to pieces?

Adding ploot option is just one step toward the casual gamer direction of D3 and that leads to a dead game in the medium term.
I know that sounds populist, but the plooters just don’t see it.

I completely agree. It makes no sense why they would oppose it.
It could be if done poorly. Just look at how the “evolution” of loot severely damaged D3’s reputation early on. And, Blizz has shown us often that they can really mess things up for little if any reason. These things give me pause.
OTOH, I’m liking the way Mr. Fergusson and the VV team seem to be moving in ways that demonstrate they have a good judgement on their side. I’m starting to believe that the future of D2R development is in steady hands.
If they created an optional pLoot realm, I don’t think I’d lose any sleep over it. A 2-second “Time Limited Allocation” then FFA as normal approach wouldn’t bother me either.
I’m just saying, I love D2R as it is, but it’s not 100% perfect either. A few, minor changes may actually improve it. Before, the word “change” and “blizz” in the same sentence would bring terror. But now, I’m willing to give the benefit of the doubt.
