I don’t know if raids are required for Immortal, but usually for mmos, there’s some enticing reward that’s tied to them (like exclusive gear, mats, and/or cosmetics). Maybe someone who have been paying more attention to news pertaining to Immortal can enlighten us, because I honestly have little idea.
Do you know if there any sort of queuing system for random parties or do NEED to find people to group with?
The only other MMO-type game I played had a random queuing option for the raid-type content so I could play pretty much entirely solo and just queue up random groups for the raids. It’d be hit or miss, sometimes you’d end up carrying some undergeared people, but I was really happy it was an option. Of course, players who made dedicated groups from their clans would have much better clear times. But it was at least possible to be antisocial and solo most of the content and then just join random groups for the raids.
If D:I is like that, I won’t really mind it. If it’s necessary to be a social butterfly to do the raid-type content I probably won’t bother.
EDIT:
Oh, okay. Good enough!
Thank you for sharing this. Wyatt is a legend.
They really need to come out with a blog that covers the basics of the game, so people do not need to look all over the place for information. This is what they have said so far.
There will definitely be some form of matchmaking:
We also heard lots of requests for better grouping, matchmaking, and raid management tools, and we’re happy to oblige! The raid UI in the Closed Beta was a first-pass implementation, and you can expect visual and functionality improvements in the future.

So I don’t think you’ll have to be concern about needing to find folks to group with.
One thing that is really important if you plain on playing with friends, you all need to be on the same server. It appears that the services might fill up fast. I do not have any friends so I will need to look for a warband to join after the launch.
As long as there’s no story locked behind multiplayer content, I will play solo defiantly until I’ve done everything story wise that’s available.
I do not believe Diablo lore will be locked, but I am assuming that some faction lore might be locked if you do not do the PvP stuff. Not sure about that. It appears that we need to find the shards before some demon gets them is the base story. The faction lore might be about the conflicts between the two main factions within PvP. That might come at end game, if you do not care about that I would assume that the basic lore should be available to solo players.
The one thing I sure hope D4 takes directly from D:I.
That is still way too much trading tbh. Those people in the clan should just, gasp, play together, if they want to share items.
I suspect that’s a lesson they learned from D3V
I meant you can only ever give 1 item up and can only ever take one item.
Same for me, right now in D3 as soon as you finish a GR people are dropping legendary items so others can use them. Not only are some “players” being power leveled and carried but they are also being given legendary items. D3 is a mess. I hope in D4 you need to actually play the game and work for what you get instead of having a free ride.
Well if the best items are untradable then this should be the case.
It’s only a question as to what counts as the best items.
Im sure it was legendary, ancient, mythic, and sets back at reveal. I would still say legendary, unique, sets(if still in).
Maybe. I’m hoping more could be elaborated on. Since in the first version of the itemization, everything below legendaries weren’t meant to have a place in endgame. That’s no longer the case with some of the changes made.
Btw, has anyone found any info on if battlenet currency is allowed for D:I shop? Should be imo, it’s money aswell.
I haven’t seen anything official.
I suspect you’ll be able to buy stuff via Blizzard Store outside of game. (I think I found the store but it currently looks empty)
AFAIK - This is how other companies are bypassing Google’s/Apple’s “handling fee”. Out-of-game mtx
I tried to look for Battle.Net gift card at Target but didn’t find one. I’m gonna hold off for a few days before I buy the Battle Pass
Yeh, was wondering mostly because of the battlepass, there are “dead zones” in the leveling up where the battlepass comes handy for that extra xp
*edit nvm, just realised there is a free battlepass aswell.
Battle Pass shouldn’t be giving you extra XP.
Just extra loot and mats to upgrade your loot. Maybe a few dungeon keys to find more loot.
But - no “+XP%” potions.
Whether that’s what got implemented or not is another story. But would contradiction what they said
we will not sell power
