How to be notified when someone posts on the forums?

Hi all,

As regards topics, the options are: watching, tracking, normal and muted.
But when I go on the profile of a player on the forums, all I see is: normal, muted, ignored.

Isn’t there any way to be notified when some player I want to follow the posts of, has been posting a new comment?

I don’t think these forums have a way to “Follow” a particular user. If you want to follow a specific thread, you can Bookmark it.

If you want to follow all posts and threads of a specific user you can go to their Profile. I believe it opens to Summary by default. Click on Activity. You will see everything they’ve posted, sorted by the most recent date. You will also see “tabs” to click on: All by default, Topics for threads they’ve created, Replies, etc.

Of course, you won’t be notified of new posts unless they reply to you or link something you’ve posted. You’ll just have to check their Profile occasionally and see if there are new posts.

Providing their profile isn’t hidden.

I’m really flattered but I haven’t been posting much lately due to playing other games.

The forum software is missing a few functions, for me it’s a hard block (blocked posters can’t view or reply to your posts). At this stage, I think you’re better off asking for D3 xpac.

The forums are not intended to be personal journals like some social media is. As a result they will allow us to control what we SEE, but we can’t control what others see.

That prevents people from posting a bait topic then blocking anyone who disagrees so that they can’t see the posts. Worse, it prevents people from being able to see and report bad actors when that does happen. The bad actor could block everyone that is likely to report and then go on a trolling spree.

So yeah, we won’t get the ability to prevent others from reading or replying. We only control what we personally see. People need to have the self control not to click the hidden posts

No, not that I know of. You can bookmark their forum profile activity if it is not hidden, but besides that, you won’t get notifications when someone specific posts.

Good to see you, Miss Cheetah.

I honestly have to disagree with this one line here though. My reasoning is that if I visit these forums while NOT logged in, I can see EVERY post from EVERY person. Theoretically, people with multiple accounts will have that same phenomenon; if they block Dimlhugion on account A, but not account B, then they’ll see me on account B. Right?

When I DO log in, though, I rather feel like people on my mute/block/whatever you want to call it list, should be FULLY hidden from ME, personally, WHILE logged in on that account. Because it’s my personal account I’m using. What good is a block list if it doesn’t block?

Let’s be real, nobody has perfect self control. We WILL click on those “view hidden replies” eventually. Why even have that option? I don’t see the benefit.

The system needs to fully block people. It would be a big boon to people with stalkers.

Fair comment. It might’ve helped one poor obsessed manchild who kept replying to every post I made on here for a while. I think he finally got the picture though.
