The leaderboards are filled with toons that have rolled crit and crit or elemental and crit on their primal squirts’. I tried re-forging with Kanai’s more than 800 times. Nada. Are they just spamming the cube? Or is there a way to get lucky? Just can’t get the desired elemental dmg or crit and crit combo.
Usually they drop from kadada from shards, monsters, or chests, etc. It’s like winning a lottery. You can increase odds by buying more tickets (ala reforge) but the biggest factor is luck.
I’ve actually rolled characters BECAUSE I found a perfect squirts. That’s one reason ppl on the leaderboards have them.
Curious, how did you get yours? Did they just drop? Gambled?
Reforging or upgrade to primal. Squirt’s has the advatage that it always rolls with CHD and main stat and primal always comes with a socket, that leaves just 1 affix to the whims of RNG. If you happen to get CHC or correct elemental damage as the final affix, you can then roll main stat to be the other one.

I got a few of them. Different elements. If cold, physical or poison are desirable necros only get those 3 elements. None of them were from reforges. Drops mostly. Upgrading yellows on necro…

I ran enough bounties to do 200 tries in the cube. Wanted a perfect cold, crit, crit for Tal Rasha. Ended up with a primal with fire and crit, so that it could only be a fire, crit, crit suitable for a DH build or something else. And then before running out of mats I got one that had lower crit, crit values and could roll 20% cold.
So getting a perfect amulet takes time, effort and luck. As said there are other ways to get it apart from a lucky in game drop. Gambling, upgrading rares in cube, which is expensive. Cube recipe 11 is also a possibility but may be better reserved for other items.
Loot, primal craft or reforge usually. Those accounts may as well use the Primal Ashes recipe but that also means you have to skip that for weapons. Due to Squirt’s buff stacks cause you to incur more damage, you may find it frustrating to play around this kind of backdraw at low paragon levels. Can’t see your profile and too lazy to check out to give a direct advice; perhaps you play at consoles.
Also, you don’t need amulet to be Primal, just a good enough Ancient is good as it gets and in my opinion, making your weapon a Primal is much more important. Lastly, Squirt’s is a good amulet but not mandatory until you accumulate enough paragon levels to diminish its negative effects.
If you dig around, there are great defensive amulets (Etlich), fixated elemental skill damage ones (Beacon, Moonward) for certain classes, or ones that offer massive crowd control (Overwhelming, Johan) effects. All of those could be a useful replacement until you find a good Squirt’s or score a high paragon level.
What I’m saying is; just try to find the best amulet with critical hit rating and elemental skill damage combination and don’t mind the type. It doesn’t matter if it’s Squirt’s or not until you are at high paragon level.
When you are at low paragon level, the effort you need to recover from low health while pushing Greater Rifts, will out-do the benefits of Squirt’s damage bonus at the long run. When you finally found a good weapon to replace your mediocre (Primal or not) weapon and accumulated enough paragon level, then only think about crafting a Primal Squirt’s for the pushes ahead.

Mine is open roll perfect. Can be used on any spec or class. Kadala was kind enough to give me this one.
Yeah, having a Primal item that isn’t class specific that you can roll for any class is the ideal drop to get.
My DH isn’t even using a crafted Primal yet. Haven’t had enough garbage Primal’s drop to salvage! lol
I used the new ashes recipe to forge mine. I crafted 3 of them within half a dozen rolls. int/crit/crit, cold/crit/crit and arcane/crit/crit.
Mine was my GR70 primal drop from a few seasons back. Dropped on a DH and has double crit leaving me free to roll the element I need.
Will probably put on my Tals Meteor Wiz when this season ends.

The best way to get you Amulet is using the ashes on it. Most people the first thing they do is upgrade the weapon they are using.
You really don’t need that super weapon. Yes it is nice to have, but you get a lot more out the Amulet. Yes every body is mind set to have that Primal weapon when you really don’t need it.
You better off trying to reforge the weapon to get nice ancient or Primal.

Not really, squirts legendary effect is static and it always rolls with CHD, so at best you gain some stats for damage, a weapon can have a substantially greater impact. the practical difference between the worst and the best squirts is massively less than the difference that would make in a weapon.

Plus on one of him accounts I have ancient Yang’s Bow that almost as nice as my Primal made from ashes. The difference between the two is 2.1 on damage. WOW it is really only going to give that little damage. When now I can make amulet with both CHD and CHC. WOW would you do???
If I change to a ancient amulet that just has CHD and cold damage and use the Primal weapon. My damage drops by a million damage.
But by you the weapon is better then the amulet. Plus isn’t this topic about how to get amulet too???

I’m not the one that said a primal squirts would be a better choice than a primal weapon, neither was “the rest”, it was you.
You do realize the sheet damage is sketchy at best?
Certainly if you already have a great weapon it’s another thing altogether, your argument however was:
so clearly it’s about early gearing.
I upgraded mine and got a perfect primal. Just got lucky. It’s on my Wizard “Hecate” .

He voices his opinion (based on facts of course, but facts can come in many shapes and form, and facts can be discussed). The one I have on Meteorblade was, if I recall, just a completely random drop from a GR guardian. It dropped as a natural STR/CHC/CHD/Socket, so I rerolled the STR into Elemental.
