So, tomorrow the new forums will have been up and running for 50 days which means that there should be a number of posters that will have satisfied the requirements of earning Trust Level 3 on the US forums as there’s been around 2100 threads / 23300 posts to read.
Spare a thought for the EU forum users, where there have only been 208 threads and around 1200 posts, so it’s impossible.
The TL3 requirement is to read 500 threads / 20,000 posts, so there’s way more than enough to satisfy that. The other requirement is to visit the forum for 50 days out of a rolling 100 days, which first becomes possible tomorrow.
It’s difficult in this forum, you would have to read just about every post. But doable if you visit constantly. I’m actually surprised we got there.
I thought I visited a lot, but I’m not even half way to 20k posts read, but have gone through over 1.4k threads. Not that I will ever need TL3 privileges, but would be nice to be able to properly link stuff… if/when they decide to sort out their trusted domains.
A lot of people wouldn’t even care about TL3 if they just added some more popular domains into the TL2 trusted site list, e.g. Icy Veins, d3planner, and so on, so people could post links to builds. Heck, even diablo3.com isn’t on the trusted list, and it’s a Blizzard owned domain which is where their blog posts reside and hosts our profile pages.
Is there a list of all trusted domains? Agree with what some said - if enough domains were marked as trusted, TL2 would be sufficient for most readers.
I personally find the gap between TL2 and TL3 to be ridiculous, based on what it “offers”. I wish there was an intermediate step TL2.5 that would have common links (such as Reddit and Imgur, and especially Diablo-related websites such as DiabloFans, IcyVeins, Diabloii and so on) marked as “trusted”.
No blue response was given and the thread just devolved into people posting embedded cat and dog videos because apparently being able to embed absolutely anything from YouTube is deemed less of an issue than providing a link to a Blizzard-owned domain.
I doubt anyone can have it properly, reading 20k posts is like reading an entire forum so far. Also considering people are pretty fragile against criticism; I’m willing to bet no one.
Perhaps besides a few that wrote legit guides, I doubt anyone could reach that point.
Whilst the TL3 criteria is nominally for reading 500 threads / 20,000 posts, just scrolling through them without even bothering to read what’s in them works just fine.
This was never a trust system, it was always a participation trophy.
The whole bit about not getting valid reports against you or suspensions is where the Trust part comes in. Being able to follow the rules means you get more privileges.
