I agree with you we don’t have enough cooldowns to use Terror. Also Hatred works well with our build since we live off of density.
We don’t have pets so lies is out. Since rend doesn’t crit that means that pain is out. Sin is out due to not having enough damage. Rend doesn’t crit so pain is out. That leaves Anguish as the go to gem. But we would be forced to use the IB set due to it being able to roll with poison damage. Whereas the BK set always rolls holy damage. If using the BK set we would be giving up a lot of damage. IIRC the toxin gem cannot proc the shard it might be because it could start double dipping.
I love it. I hit those 130s hard right after reset. I had around 5 clears in the 7:30 time area then just decided I wanted to break 7 minutes before I went to bed. Fished a bit for something halfway decent. It was without power too!!! Gonna break 6 minutes soon.
Anyways I plan to focus on speed 130s for awhile unless I get bored. I am probably going to partake in the debauchery that is Monk this season. Plan on milking that for all its worth before it gets nerfed.
I’m still tinkering with other classes and put together an Inna’s monk to see what all the fuss is about. It’s a bit more complicated to play than barb, having to rely on rotation, triggering buffs and spirit management with the RNG of Shen Long’s set.
I one keyed a 145 to get my feet wet, albeit, I didn’t really understand the build mechanics. After that, I got somewhat lucky and 5-keyed a 150. I still didn’t really understand the build except for wait for the Fire CoE cycle and press Mystic Ally for big boom. Seeing as I was just testing the build and not expecting to clear, I got a personal best of 13:33 but no video unfortunately.
Determined to get a video I kept plugging in and got another clear in, but with a worse time. All in all, I really like the Inna’s Monk. It’s fun to play an OP build… now if Barbs (Rend) can get another round of buffs
This season I have cleared a much higher GR with this build and finally decided to learn about GR fishing. Sure I am probably only on the baby side of the fishing. My clear is GR129 in about 11 minutes, forgot the seconds. I just feel so good about it because now I see how much different the right density makes along with wise use of pylons. A GR128 in 10:24 with festering and vile swarm. I was at about 90% progression by the end of the first floor so the next map wasn’t nearly as great but since I had such a high progression and way ahead of the clock I easily had enough to summon the RG and kill to get the time. I am gonna keep going to see just how far I can take the build.
Hmm… sure sounds like 148 is certainly doable for you, and from there it’s just a 4.65% increase in toughness needed to 150. You probably just need to pull good mobs / elites / boss, who won’t kill you too bad.
Congrats on the clear, SA- it’s always great to get a new PB!
Thanks for the nice reply Rage. Although I do believe that if I were in my push spec and allowed you or one of the other great barb players of this spec to play it you would no doubt be able to push much higher and have a better clear time in that GR129 than I would. That is how much confidence I have in your and everyone else’s skill compared to mine since I am just starting to learn how to play better and learning more about fishing for the right GR.
Just give it time and some dedication. I went from personal best of GR 132 when I started my push journal. Gained a lot of experience along the way and now I dream of getting 4-corner fatties whenever I go for my next pb.
I will end the season now and go play other games. Don’t get me wrong this build is my favorite barb build. I just need to rest from playing D3 for now. I will wait till next season to see what they do with season 26. Then I will decide whether to use this build again or go for another build, or maybe even another class. I am probably one of the most flexible players as far as playing classes and builds goes. Sure there are those that I know off of the start that I would say no to like I know that I wouldn’t play Vyr’s Archon Build that is not my play style nor will it ever be my play style.
I have never properly played WW, just a bit of dabbling here and there and decided to do it this season. So I have a question, what kind of GR can I expect to be able to reach in season 25 with like 1 700 - 1 800 paragon? I know it is not a cut and dry question with variables in items and skill etc but can someone give a guess?
I have been setting myself goals the last few seasons and was hoping to beat my previous highest of a 131 which was with bonespear in season 22. Is that too much to go for? I would actually like to do 135 but would rather have a realistic goal than just force goal of highest personal GR.
Going to answer both this question and your one about Squirt’s from the other thread…
With 1700-1800 paragon, and some augs, I would definitely expect you to be able to do 131. I did 128 with Leapquake at <1000 paragon and no augs, in about 100 keys spent on everything, both leveling gems and pushing, for the whole season. So Rend, which is a stronger set, with a bunch more mainstat, should be able to do 131 no problem.
That’s assuming you’re playing properly, of course, using Spear + Stomp. This season, Rend is really strong in good maps due to the Ring of Fire effect from Terror shard. With good pulls on good maps/mobs, you can generate one ring after another and just burn everything to death.
Well, if you haven’t read my Squirt’s Analysis post, you may want to do that.
But the bottom line is, yes, Squirt’s is not always good, and yes, it makes the build more fishy. And, a Hellfire is a perfectly acceptable option, if you haven’t found a good Squirt’s.
