[Guide] Zodiac Rend (Season 20)

ya, totally different weapons…

Well another disappointing day of farming. Two more primal band of mights and two more trash rolls to go with them. That makes something like 6 BOM primals in the last few months.
I need either area or damage with crit/crit and it just does not want to happen.

CHC + Damage Range + AD is basically identical in performance to CHC + CHD + AD, so don’t get tunnel vision on that double crit.

CHD + Damage Range + AD is just a hair less good… but still very good.

Is this the same as Min-Max damage?

And could you do me a solid and bump the WepThrow/BT thread? I have a really nice video of the next GR clear in a Festering Forester map.

Correct that would be an upgrade as well but I didn’t get any of the 3. I go in cycles of farming paragon and get burnt out then spend 1-2 weeks of a little more bounties then normal. For whatever reason at the time it seems like a good idea but it has not payed off.
I’m a big efficiency guy but bounties are not that ever. I have wasted so much time farming
bounties. I honestly would be 8k already if I did not worry about getting those rare perfect rolls.

Yep.

I feel your pain. I’d really like a pair of primal quad MOTE gloves, but just can’t get them. 4 primals in the not too distant past, but no quads. OR, a Furnace with AD - Dmg% - CDR, but I’ve just found 2 garbage ones.

There are 4 BOM options that would be an upgrade for you, right?

Dmg - CHC - CHD
Dmg- CHD - AD
Dmg- CHC - AD
CHC - CHD - AD

I am running a 90-192/39% chd/6crit so yes a primal of any of those 4 would be better.
what I find crazy is my very first primal back many years ago would have been damage,
crit, crit but I was following an icy veins guide and rolled the secondary instead of the str off.
funny how that one decision to follow a bad guide has cost me so much time.

Luckily, my first (and only) primal BoM was native CHC-CHD. And I’ve been rolling the 3rd stat between CDR, AD, and Damage Range ever since.

On the PTR I’ve gotten primal Wastes shoulders with STR / AD / CDR / 15% Rend, and ancient Wastes gloves with CHC / CHD / AD / CDR on them.

Sadly, the one thing I can’t find is the “PTR to Live” button…

Ok, I have no idea how that 8.1K paragon barb finished 150. I took a gander at it just for fun and couldn’t kill anything in any sort of reasonable time. Gob smacked.

My guess is he got an early shield then pulled the entire map. With the double damage trash would die then with enough progression spawned a condi. All speculation but really the only way anything thing dies for us that high is with pylon help.

Tough luck on first map. I hate vile swarms as a starter. Easy tk but super low progression. They’re perfect for second map closer though.

Yah man. Ive been putting a few keys in every weekend and this was my best after 12 keys lol. Im already starting to give 146 a thought since the leads I have been getting are pretty big.
I just need a great second map. I’m not even using squirts yet so 147-148 is withing range but a big fish. Gonna be interesting after another 4 months of farming and we get even closer to the top 5 para guys.

Rank 1 goal posts are within the horizon. :sunglasses:

When I watch stuff like this, I’m unashamed to say that even if I had an extra 10K paragon, rank 150 gems, and 750 STR augments everywhere, I have nowhere near the ability to pull this sort of thing off. Lovely spear-work. I grinned around 3 minutes in with the Conduit. Hell, I even noticed the subtle flex of Cosmic Wings as you ran to map 2. If you get good maps back-to-back you’ve absolutely got this.

I’m almost positive it will take a 150 to get rank 1 going forward for us. Bagero has 12.4k paragon. He would would have a 150 already if he spent more time on his barb. Instead hes out trying to get rank one on every class.

@MB really the only way 99% of top barbs learn to spear at this level is to play zbarb. You probably know I use to hate playing this way but was talked into not only using spear/stomp but also forced myself to like zbarb. Now it is my preferred game play in D3. Either way just set personnel goals for yourself for your chosen play style and enjoy the game.

Hmmmm maxroll season teir lists are out. WWrend is #4 behind 3 different monk builds. Funny how things work out.

Oh, don’t get me wrong, I resisted using spear for so long being a stubborn so-and-so but I relented and realised it was just something I had to learn and I’ve been using it for a couple of years at this point. I’ve done solo stuff up to around GR130, with some nifty spearing, but I just can’t seem to get past that level.

As for the whole zBarb thing, I know that would not only get me lots of gem upgrades / augments for my solo push, but I also know that it’s a gameplay style that really turns me off, so it would more than likely make me quit.

I managed mid GR120s on the PTR with an ethereal and about 1100 paragon, so my goal in S24 is to see if I can get to GR130 with 2000 paragon or so, and to unlock the 21 ethereal feat of strength for the cosmetics.

What is your NS paragon?

That’s interesting, I can tolerate using spear in z-barb play, but not in solo pushing .
