The problem with it primarily is not the season, but having those earns gained by using a unintended bug then rolling over to non-season.
If you earned a bunch of paragon that you weren’t normally going to.
If you leveled a ton of gems higher than you normally would have.
If you would have found some items that you otherwise might not have.
Etc.
This is ultimately the problem. Not what it does to the season itself, other than those that normally are on the leaderboards every season suddenly have their spot threatened and are pissy about it. Suck to be those people I guess, but most of us don’t care about them anyway. However the integration of ill-gotten gains into the normal side that shouldn’t be there would irk off a lot of people.
Resetting the season is only going to piss everyone off, so that isn’t the best option either, but at the same time something should be done.
I’m just going to hold off playing this season till they make a decision as to what to do. If they are going to reset it, I don’t want to waste any more time playing it right now.
Yeah but some streamers have been reported and still sits season after season and uses 3 party programs without any ban… Blizz just don’t care about it anymore
Problem is that when they ban people they just buy a new key, because blizzard is greedy and doesn’t actually permanently ban people from buying new accounts.
ISPs don’t always provide static IPs to residential customers. The IP address someone has today could be assigned to someone else in a couple of days time. That means the cheater would be on a new, non-banned IP address and someone innocent could be banned due to being on a banned IP address. They’ll never implement bans based on IP address alone.
