From the Barb Community: DO NOT NERF REND

Patch hits soon, this thread has blown up, and still nothing from Blizzard?

How many times have they promised “improved communication” yet we end up in situations like this?

  1. Short PTR’s with zero communication or interaction. PTR shuts down then the patch is changed in ways no one knows until patch hits live
  2. Patch hits with changes no one knew about, usually last minute stuff
  3. Rushed changes are now active for the whole season, if not more, because once changes are live devs are hands off and refuse to work on the game

I don’t see any “improved communication” from them at all, beyond some vague promise to update people on the state of Diablo 4 like 4 times a year in 2020… :joy::roll_eyes:

Nothing’s changed with this developer. Players are completely in the dark about what is happening with Diablo 3, when, why, or how.

I’ve watched several of his videos. It’s funny how he rates several builds as “S Tier” and those are fine, but when a barb build might be considered one, it’s OP. People have really got so used to barbs being bad that being normal and on par with other classes just seems strange and overpowered… for whatever reason.

Another streamer did the same thing, cleared a 110 with no paragon in OK time a few seasons ago on a Carnevil build, says that was fine don’t nerf. In his ptr ww build he is running 100( condemn sader runs 100 faster, several builds do) with assigned paragon and says the build is OP. Goes on to show his lack of knowledge because he sites having no whirlwind damage on top ptr lb clears as an indicator of how OP the build is.

Let that sink in for a moment. I’ll provide a link in a bit, I saved both videos for an occasion such as this.

Btw, is it normal to struggle hitting lvl100 with almost 16k STR currently? I mean by the current WW standards

For people that don’t play Barbs, consider this…
“'When you’re accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression”

I really do not like ELITISTS running other OP classes and wanting us Barbs to be the underdogs forever. Just be good as slaves (zBarb) only for them.
That is disgusting.

Just once they can let the Barb buffs be tried during some months (they had years with their DPS builds.

But no their superiority egos won’t allow it.

Do not nerf Barbs, pls.

I suspect it’s going to be in-between. If it’s 0%, patch notes would have been released few days ago. If it’s 200%, we would have heard some form of assurances from blizz by now. If it’s in-between, approval would have to be granted & changes to consoles made urgently, and patch notes delayed to next week. Just a thought :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

If they won’t revert the nerf or buff lamentation up to 300-400% than I’m not buying D4 or any other Blizz game ever.

If you want to have the same situation in D4 where barb will be always behind the sorceress, than have fun with D4.

Gasnick, you forgot barbs were kings in D3 vanilla and early RoS, so if this can be taken as precedence, perhaps, perhaps, perhaps barbs will be kings to start with in D4

Barbs were godlike in vanilla because of jay wilson, after he left, the barb char went down the toilet.

I wonder how many players like me started with Barb and later moved to other classes (DH in my case on EU) and want to come back and have a competitive (to other classes) DPS Barb.

Indeed, me and my group of friends would often run in multi-barb teams. I would hota, he would ww, and another would slam/throw, use different warcries to complement…it’s such a memory long buried :disappointed:

My first account is only barb, 2k+hrs. It is a quite a dedication back in vanilla days. Then i bought this account to multibox with a wizard. When RoS comes, things fall off very fast for barbs, and i have never played barbs since like S1, except the season they buffed raekor, & i gotta respec to zbarb for xp meta…it’s a sad plight.

I’m not sure I understand the negative way “elitism” is being used around here. The way I understand it is as a synonym for “perfectionism” and I see nothing wrong with trying to perfect your build or the way you play. Trying to force others to play the way you want to, though, is another story.

Can’t remember which Barb did 138, but I do know he had 9k paragon levels (didn’t note names in the calculation just Paragon lvls).
So its not even close to a 4k barb soloing 138.

Elitism is not the same as perfectionism. Someone can be elite at an activity. The problem is there is a connotation associated with the term “elitism”. In some cases, elitism conveys the notion that a community’s elite are hostile to others that they consider lesser. I am not saying that this is the case here, just trying to clarify definitions/connotations.

I’d say… Kind of. I’m paragon 1.2k, run my WW with roughly 16k Strength and do a 100 in 8mins ish. Before Mortick’s I struggled to do 100s due to toughness.

Sometimes it might seem like that, but it’s not always the case. For example, I work in IT. If someone is claiming something which is wrong and I know it is, I’m going to point it out. When you know what you’re talking about and someone is wrong and spreading wrong information, you might feel inclined to correct them.

I am not Eng. native speaker, but elitism in my post had nothing to do with builds.
It was aimed at some peoples feelings that they are superior and nobody else, especially from Barb class should endanger their classes.
