From the Barb Community: DO NOT NERF REND

revert the change’s back to 200% or we storm the castle :rage::fire::rage:

Agreed 100%. Blizz really needs to rethink this because when you really look at all the facts it is no where near warranted. Wizard has already cleared higher after the nerfs with half the para. So what is the reasoning in this when you devs claim to care about balance. Barbs are back to the bottom of the barrel with this nerf if you do the math which numerous people have in numerous different posts. Why would you claim to hear our war cry and claim to care when clearly you don’t. You buffed ww to a really good spot (still wasn’t top but was competitive) and then you just took it away with one massive nerf to the build that you had just claimed an agreed needed love!? How hypocritical can you get. So what if barb was going to be a shining star, we havent had a top spot since like season 3 outside of zdps which doesnt count. Why must you cater to the haters who hop on their hater choo choo train blaring their hater choo choo horn and you fold over like a wet piece of paper. Can’t you just give barbs just ONE season in the sun. JUST ONE. Why do majority of the classes have to perform better than the barb. Why is it if barbs gets within wizard power the hate apocalypse erupts on the forums screaming for nerfs. You know barbs needed love. We’ve been patiently waiting for years hopin one day you’'d hear our cry. Finally you claimed to hear it and bc a bunch of people who dont like the build you crush it into oblivion. You should really be ashamed by this. How long have us barbs been bottom feeders? I honestly cant remember a season where they shined except the first couple season when d3 initially launched. After that we’ve just been begging for scraps. And now with all this going on I dont really have high hopes for D4 either. Lost complete faith in the sense that you all even remotely know what you are doing.

After all the great D4 news to wake up and see the nerf literally was crushing and took all the excitement and wind out of me for next season. As someone who has mained barb since day 1 I was pumped this upcoming season to have a build that could be used in speed runs aside from the mind dulling rat runs where we are always the support. Also this build can be used to complete all game functions (rifts, bounties, ubers, GRs) without needing to roll another class in order to be able to keep up with the masses.

As you can see so many in the community were pumped as well about these buffs and it seems now many won’t even play the next season because of this. So many barbs who have since moved on to other games were intrigued and planning to come back and play seasons but if this nerf stands you will see many just get their pet and be gone within a week. This new speed comp would definitely lengthen the season for many myself included.

Please reconsider this nerf and bring it back to its full 200% to give barbs a build that now competes with many other classes. We have been asking for this for a long long longggggg time and to literally have the rug pulled out from under us once again is devastating.

This sounds like a MUCH more reasonable solution. Hopefully they crunch so more numbers and decide on a compromise.

Blizz tends to have a policy of over shooting the adjustments during testing by a large amount (up or down).

Hoping the Barbs end up with a middle value at least.

I am so disappointed in the decision that was made to Nerf Lamination to the ground after all the hype about how hot the Forges were going to be and promises made.
After waiting for so many years for a fix to Rend to actually do some serious damage with the Wastes set and make the set a contender for solo End Game, maybe, then to be suddenly taken away before anyone could use it, is very devastating and truly unfair, if you look at other classes with builds that have End Game possibility’s for solo for years now.
Please reinstate the Lamination Buff while you still have time. If you feel that the %age on the belt was to high, lower it a tad if you must, but don’t take the Buff away entirely.
A lot of Barb’s were so Hyped about the new WW Rend build that was tested in the PTR, it deserves a chance to go live.

Thank You

when i started this game when it first came out and started to play the WW Barb that is when i fell in love with this game , then you nerf that into the ground i mean Killed it. and after all these years we could be a WW Barb again and guess what… you did it again

Too MissCheetah I would even be okay with compromise. But the nerf as it stands (and I think everyone agrees) was a little too much. I’ve even seen a few posts from peeps who were asking for nerfs were astounded that blizz took it this far and felt bad for us. Compromise is a good thing but why is it blizz can’t even at least see that as an option.

Even though I am going to play monk this season, barb class is very dear to me. I think, that considering the amazing legacy that whirlwind has - it deserves a spot among the strongest builds.

With this nerf that is out of question. To those who say “we will see” to the simplest calculaton of how fewer GRs this build will achieve - guys, this is not rocket science, if the damage is the bottleneck, then its going to be a 7GR blow to our faces.

I say - cancel the nerf. Let the season show just how powerful this build is and lets make conclusions after it.

I’m just afraid they do nothing, like they have previous times for Barbarian class.

Not only that but we know damn well if they don’t reverse this unjustified nerf they won’t touch barbs again for years. Why are people saying we should compromise? Does anyone else? When we ask for a reversal we are being reasonable because the nerf is flat out the wrong thing to do.

+1 nerfing lamentation from 200% to 0% is overkill and not appretiated

Same guy pushing Barb on the ptr did a 145 with Wizard as well… But let’s bring Barbarian down 10grifts at least below Wizard after nerfs… That’s just totally fine… Sigh

Why do barbs always get kicked in the you know where?

Typical Blizz over-reaction to the fun patrol. Nothing seems to change around here, even when you think Blizz finally heard the players.

Btw, was it only lamentation that got changed?, since i’ve only seen that screenshot and a pic of wastes set, was anything else changed at the same time?

As far as I understood it, they had to refarm everything in a very limited time. Also we didn’t see any pics from other items, such as remorsless etc, maybe something was changed on ambo’s pride?

I never really enjoyed Whirlwind that much until the latest PTR. The new rend mechanic was awesome and it got me to finally play whirlwind for the first time (was already collecting gear for it). However, the nerf was over the top, and it kind of ruined it for me now.

I’ve been playing since vanilla. This has happened in pretty much almost every patch in RoS with Barb content. Barbs get some buffs, some guy with ridiculous stats and gear pushes barb to the absolute extreme (but none of the other classes), barbs get over nerfed due to troll outcry, and then barbs remain at the bottom once again. The cycle repeats itself next PTR.

The most glaring example was Mortick’s. Not going to name names, but we all remember who pushed to the max with that build. People went crazy, the IK set was nerfed after the push, and then once live came Mortick’s was taken away, but the IK nerf was never reverted back. Barbs were at the bottom of the totem pole once again.

I just want to communicate to the devs that again, this happens every PTR with barb buffs. Learn from the previous PTRs and please factor that into your decision here.

Anyways, I just wanted to voice my support for the un nerf.

Not sure what powers you have, it would br nice if you can bring one of cm attention to us. To be honest, they need to hear us or the confidence of this dev team is gone. That confidence will jeopardise D4 as well. Its clear cut Rend is the scape goat for the OP season buffs. This insults barb community as well as NS community. In retaliation all advanced thurd and botting info will be wide spread across all media and full exploits of all known bugs will be as widespread as possible. Solo 150 on s19 will be hard core pushed on a zdps toon even if it costs 1 million keys. We ll make sure blizzard reputation is gutted amongst game production companies and the current dev team is a worse clown than Donald Trump.

Yes i am furious with the Rend nerf. I dont give a fk about wiz nerfs even if sp cost me more than 80k bounty mats.

Yes Free. We heard your summoning and you ll have our full support.

They balanced around a player with 10,500 paragon who was first on the PTR leaderboard with at least 5 of the 7 classes. I hate to sound ignorant, cause I know these are people working hard at Blizzard, but balancing around that is just incompetency.

It is only lamentation that changed. The five others items (+ the wastes set bonus) did not receive changes to my knowledge. Someone will correct me if I am wrong.

Only 1% of the whole player base is in +125 GR. Of that 1% only very select few are capable of pushing 130s in barb class (at 10000 paragon that is). How logical is it to adjust the item buff levels considering the top performer in the PTR (the guy that pushed 140)?

How about the 99% of all the player base?

How about the ~80% of the player base that is stuck below 120 GR (which is their wall)?

Lamentation nerf is not logical, it takes away the intended buff by a margin of 7GRs, which brings it back to its original top capability of WW barb (131). This is a significant nerf for the average players and does not constitute a buff.

I support the OP in this thread. The lamentation buff adjustment is not accurate and needs to be revised.
