Same here too, but my freezes break the comp, bluescreen or necessary hard shutdown. Franky, I can’t be arsed to turn into a specialist fixing this. I’ll just head back to ESO and wait for New World.

we try all what knowed. we finish 147 with 2 sorc 2 weeks ago, but today we cant clear 145 with zmonk/zdh/zbarb (with uliana, without uliana)

Having the same issue, every single time I press Mirror Images my game freezes for a second, and becomes very choppy when they’re out and casting spells. I tried the .dll from HoTs and it fixed the issue completely, but having no sound kinda sucks. I hope we can get a proper fix from Blizzard.

They’re probably assuming it’ll be here on Tuesday because the Pop-Up PTR has ended, and the thread has unceremoneously been unpinned, indicating that they have a fix and are likely going to deploy it this week as the PTR ended back on 8/16.

With any luck those assumptions are correct. Windows users have been having to deal with a lot of issues with D3 over the last year and a half. I’m also hoping that this has a fix for the problem that affects both Windows and macOS wherein D3 will randomly suffer an issue where the inventory icons take ages to load if you are anywhere other than in town in the Act 2 zone. The workaround for that is to change texture resolution between High <–> Low and back again (so if you are on High as most players are these days, you set it to Low, click the Apply button, then set it back to High agan and click Apply again). This bug affects macOS more frequently than Windows, likely due to macOS’ more recent versions having barely functional OpenGL drivers as that is what D3 uses on that platform vs. DirectX 11 on Windows.

S24 patch 2.7.1a released. It appears that not all is fixed.

Freezing issue immediately before RG spawned. Lost connection once RG dead, loot dropped. 4player public game. Was playing zDH. Clean Win10Pro install, fully updated,new Battlenet app and new Diablo3.

Having used the dll fix and not having sound, I switched to the “affinity” fix which prevents freezing and I still have sound.
open game.
hit your windows key
right click on your task bar and select task manager
click on details tab
find the diablo III 64 exe file…right click on it to get context menu
select affinity
you can now reduce the number of processor cores d3 will use
if you have 6 cores normally unselect all the pick two next to each other example: 2 and 3.
click okay close task manager and return to game… no freezing and no loss of sound…
I believe the idea behind this is that when diablo 3 was first designed… multicore proecessors where not a thing and having multicores in some systems causes duplications in data which leads to comp freezes. anyway…better than the dll fix and it works for most ppl

Yeah, the affinity works for this issue for some people. When in doubt, you can even lower it to just one core and it should still run fine. But I would use no more than 2. Diablo III was originally coded for 32 bit code and optimized for single/dual/quad core CPUs. They added 64bit support later on to better support memory, but I don’t think optimization for CPUs beyond 4 cores was changed much, if at all. I have a feeling that a lot of the people having issues are running on CPUs with more than 4 actual cores. (not counting hyperthreaded or virtual cores here).

I can confirm that the .dll fix does not work in high level GRs, nor did it help my FPS in any way.
Setting affinity to 3 physical cores has been helping me for years and does seem to stabilize FPS in high GRs, but once you get to 50+ mobs, the server/client relationship starts to stutter, then crash the client to desktop.
Yesterdays server maintenance did not help with server lag, fps stability or crashes.
I’m not entirely sure what they did, but I do know the issues are still here.

D3 froze again then disconnect. I came across a suggestion from TheTias to close Battle.net app upon launching D3. If open, Diablo 3 files could become corrupted if app downloading updates in the background.
