Snag lag causing toons to die… fix this or delete hardcore 100%… it is time for you to finally address the hardcore issue… The snag lag is due to you… not us! Thus you must return the toons we lost from your SNAG LAG! AS THIS IS YOUR ERROR NOT OURS!

So many lol glad i don’t play HC. I remember similar in normal mode. I was smashing it… almost died but managed to survive the 3 bosses/hordes attacking me. Next thing you know, lagged and died. Wasn’t even much left around me.
I will say, it’s not the game type, it’s weird lag associated with it. I have 1 gig fiber, connected via Ethernet and I only ever get any kind of lag or rubber-banding (what the OP is referring to) on HC, which I’ve always found shady.
I love HC and the excitement it gives. If I screw up and get careless or count my chickens before they hatch, I fully accept responsibility and know I need to do better. But losing to that is dumb.

Same. I get a much higher rate of game freezes on HC than SC. I played roughly 600 hours S32 on SC and had the game freeze maybe a dozen times.S31 I played roughly 300 hours on HC and had the game freeze well over a hundred times.
HC D3 is such a low priority for them that I wager the servers they run it on are from the D2 Vanilla days and are located in a back broom closet.

I just wish they would address the issue. It’s not some rare thing or brand new. It’s been an issue for a long while. I know they “can” do something because it’s not so rampant on WoW HC from what I read. Then again… subscription service vs free?
It’s funny really it is. I facepalm at most my deaths.
D3, D4 and D:I all have brutal lag spikes. Going into HC you must know this.
Learn how to counter the spike by knowing your build, know when to play and not, play with friends who can save you when they see your character is lagging. And accept death no matter the reason.
Most of us expect spikes but when it weirdly happens a lot more on HC, something shady is going on.

update: I have learned to open task manager after I launch Diablo 3 from Battlenet. Then I turn off it shows (4-6) battlenet processes, and the battlenet updater… I shut them down… end task… and it doesn’t happen anymore.

I’m glad you found a solution. I play on console and there isn’t anything we can do but hope hope for the best.
If you don’t play hardcore, you don’t play REAL Diablo.
I do play HC.
If dying to random game freezes is real Diablo, then real Diablo is not very good.
