lol ever played poe cuz they do this in three ways soft allocation, perma allocation or FFA allocation. soft would mean a short timer for some items to only be picked up by a said player then after about 5-10 secs it turns to FFA. perma is basicly your Ploot but all players can see the items. tbh i dont even use these options just keep poe on default FFA loot more enjoyable imo
Easy solutions. Get better internet or don’t play knowing you’re at a disadvantage when it comes to getting loot. Go make your own game, you can’t comprehend the little amount that actually does drop. So for 10 straight games even if you do end up killing that boss at the end of your public run, and you see little to nothing drop and that one good unique that went to stoner420xxx 2 games in a row… don’t be mad. If the drops were better and more common in Diablo 2 then yes a personal loot system can work. This isn’t wow or POe where the boss has a 100% of dropping something worth rolling for.
I think the easier solution would be Ploot. I mean, unless you got speical pull and can convince a large corp to invest large amount of money to haul better internet out in the boonies. And you still haven’t addressed a solution for that range character. And rolling for loot? I don’t think we talking about mmorpg loot drop mechanics here. Again, thank you, please try again.
Thank god the team doing this realize ploot would destroy d2 and more people would leave than join.
I am however going to spam all day long on d4 forums to get FFA loot to see how these idiots like that.
Bro i was snatching loot on net zero… 20 years ago.
Bro I’m guessing other folks at the time also had limited internet capability or no internet at all? So it was a more fair playing field than it is now with a wider spectrum of internet speed and latency depending where you live?
But thanks for pointing out the fact you were also a fan of net zero. /slow clap
I’m surprised that net zero still exist though.
I don’t remember, I didn’t flag it though.
The current Ploot poll on these official forums (I mean not really official poll, but on the official forums, user created) shows about 250 respondents where about 1/5 are more in favor of FFA.
Refusing to acknowledge the human problem as a key element as to why FFA is toxic just means you’re in denial of reality
To be fair, that poll implies the D3 style instance loot is what is meant by ploot. If people knew what was being suggested had nothing to do with D3’s system, that poll would look differently. Therefore it’s invalid. Most people responding to the issue for the first time are under the impression it’s a D3 instanced loot system being asked for.
A couple of my posts from other threads!
Total drops would be the same, but items are randomly distributed out. Each player would have a 1/8 chance of getting items. Out of the 10 uniques I might get lucky on this run, and get 3 of them. Say we do another run, and 10 uniques drop. This time say I get 2 of them. One player gets 5. One player gets 2. One player gets 1. 4 players don’t get any. Just random chance based on number of players in game, and if the players are all near the bosses/monsters. The only thing bad about personal loot in party games is looking for certain items. Say I’m looking for a 4 socket Crystal Sword. You would have to ask/tell the other players to look out for a certain item that you’re looking for if you stay in group killing the same bosses/monsters. If you go off killing bosses/monsters on your own you would be the only one getting the loot anyways. Also, solo runs you would be able to farm for that 4 socket Crystal Sword better. There could be an upside to personal loot in that when you join pub games, and you state what items you’re looking for you can create more socialization in game, and possibly more friendships if you’re able to share the loot!
I did mention it in past. I would not exactly say friendships tho as it create negative as positive outcome. I would say that FFA supports social interaction which is great.
Definitely, plenty of players always were giving free stuff.
lmao fighting over loot creates arguments and frustration.
You mean old junk poorly stated items end of ladder stuff or just when the economy is broken because a bot farm has been running for months.
Would be completely fine as an option.
no in D4 there’s no option it will be ploot only…hope u enjoy that
Timed loot assignment is superior to instanced look like D3. Hopefully, Blizzard devs become aware of this. A great opportunity to illustrate that in this remaster.
mayby they will in D4 but not in D2R for sure…this is remaster not experiment
No, plenty of usable items, low level uniques, stuff which helps you. Dude i have even seen people giving free enigma shako, high runes. Thats not common but sometimes happens.
If you visit few free items games, you can get decent starting gear often.
People are just damn lazy these days and look only for excuses and they want stuff from game without trying. If you want good gear in D2 you need to be resourceful and learn something about the game.
It is just extremely dumb that some people were complaining about FFA loot in beta when there was plenty of drop. Or ways how to get loot.
Well imo all items should be bop and the entire ladder should be solo self found
But that’s not going to happen.
If they make a ssf ladder in the future that will be all ill ever play though.
It does sound interesting but people play MP to play with others, not to play solo ::
hm, sort of but competing against other people on the ladder with no bots not hand outs no cheating of any kind would be fun.
Group play on diablo is also fun don’t get me wrong but if they keep the game as it is and just add a SSF ladder I would happily ditch everyone else in a second
