Expect on release that so many new players are gonna be calling for changes

I am not being hyperbolic. In fact, I have serious concerns about those two changes specifically (personal loot and charm inventory). But there have been other suggestions that are far more ridiculous and have garnered at least some positive feedback as well… Just look at some of the forum posts here, I’m sure you’ve seen those.

Let me be more specific so that you may understand my concerns… These may not be valid points, totally accurate or even complete. I’m just puking things forth as they come into my head…

Personalized loot in any of its forms (i.e. “destroying the core of the game / one of the core pillars of the game”):

  1. Drop rates are the same; loot gets distributed evenly among kill participants: Why would I ever want to play with other people if this was a thing? I would just farm everything solo and laugh at everyone who is still in norm-gear by level 70+ because they play with other people. Also, getting no loot is not fun.
  2. Drop rates are increased, but loot is still distributed evenly among participants: Same as above. Let’s say baal drops 3 items for everyone. Why would I want to play this?
  3. Drop rates are unchanged and everyone gets his personal, instanced loot as if they were in Single Player: I have serious concerns about the trading economy and possible exploits here.
  4. Drop rates are unchanged. Once you pick up something “of value”, you get a cooldown before you can pick up anything else “of value”: First, who decides what is of value and not? Second, every time I pick up something mid-tier, I made a mistake, because if during my cooldown something else I need / want drops, I can’t. Even if I would have easily been able to. This is extremely demoralizing and would - again - lead me to not play with other people. Also, this post explains very well, why this does not work: To people saying ploot is a no because 0 loot in boss fights for some - #6 by Bloodshot-1194

Charms inventory (i.e. “destroying the balance of the game”):

  1. Normal inventory is divided into a small (let’s say 4x4) section in where charms work. In the other they don’t: This would seriously hurt PvP. Let’s say I play a cold sorc. A cold sorc can easily reach 215% pierce from cold mastery alone (CM level 40, without any charms). Including facets, I could reach ~250% cold pierce. Let’s say you play … whatever, doesn’t really matter… You can stack your resists to possibly 200, if you wanted to (again, no charms). But at that point you’re already gimping yourself and have no real damage left. If you then stack 16x 20/11s in your charm inventory, you reach a staggering 376 cold res. Now, subtract 250 from that and you’re at 126 - more than enough, right? Not if PvP happens in Hell difficulty. I could even put in 4 skillers to get another +20% pierce. And since you do no damage, I can forgo BO and put on a lower res wand… But I don’t even have to in order to melt (or freeze, in this case) your face.
  2. A second inventory the same size as your normal inventory is added where you can only put in charms - and they only work there: Why would anyone not want to fully utilize this space? Wasn’t the point of this stupid charm inventory idea to limit power of certain builds? This would only add to the power of everyone since I no longer have to worry about inventory space to be able to pick up items.

Fun little read for the end, just because I thought it’s funny: I walked into my local grocery store today

Edit:
As for “1.14+” … Mods.
