Exclamation marks missing

I just noticed the exclamation marks, yellow or blue, are now missing from the main screen although they appear in the small screen on the top right. I have played the game for many years and the exclamation marks are important, especially the yellow ones, as the hero has to make contacts before the game can continue. While I am reporting this bug, I ask that the response to see the contents of the hero’s bag and the box is extremely slow - up to 10 seconds. I know I can make the response quicker by changing the resolution to high/low but I consider this a bug.

I use the Apple Mac desktop. Is that a console?

I often experience very slow loading of the UI, Stash, Exclamations(Orek after a Rift), etc.
I have tried all of the workarounds to no avail.
I blame my old, slow computer.

I’m not sure if you’re being sarcastic. But, in case you’re not: No. Desktops, Mac or Windows, are not considered consoles.

This may be totally unrelated, but are you playing in Fullscreen? If so, try changing to Windowed (Fullscreen) and see if that helps. If it does, change back to Fullscreen. If it still works, good. If not, you may need to play in Windowed (Fullscreen).

And, if none of that works, I don’t know what else to tell you. (Sorry).

Perusoe: Thank you for your suggestion. I changed Fullscreen to Windowed (Fullscreen), but the outcome is spotty, meaning sometimes good, sometimes the same. I noticed this problem started the same time as the slow loading of stash. About a year ago, this slow loading took place and I recall everyone was complaining and then the problem disappeared. So when slow loading disappears, I am guessing my problem probably also disappears. Sorry that I sounded sarcastic. I am not your typical player, but am an occasional player who does not understand a lot of the terms you use in your dialogue, and am saddened that I cannot play Diablo 4 on my Apple. I suppose as Microsoft is taking over Blizzard, this change is inevitable. Money is the most important thing.

No problem. Someone suggested you move this thread to the Console Bug Report Forum. You replied that you were on a Mac desktop and asked if that was a console. So, I thought you were maybe being sarcastic to them. (I see they have since deleted their post).

But, desktop PCs are not consoles. The console platforms refer to game boxes, like Xbox, PS4, Nintendo Switch, etc.

It’s starting to sound like you have more of a technical issue rather than a game bug.

Your issue could possibly be any one or all of the following:

  • Older computer.
  • Slower computer.
  • Slow or unstable internet connection.

One last thing I can think of, although it usually relates to frequent disconnections. Are you connected to the internet through a wireless connection? If so, can you hard-wire your computer to your modem with an Ethernet cable?

There may be display problems on Mac, but difficult to know why.

  • With my WDs, no problems.
  • If I play with my wizards or necromancers… Display issues.

Why? I don’t know…

Slow load times - Inventory

Perusoe: After your suggestions plus some other actions by Blizzard, everything seems back to what it was before - exclamations are back and loading time for stash and inventory is almost instantaneous. Thank you very much for your help. I have set my screen to Fullscreen and resolution to 4096… as before. Also on the right hand side, Quality-Texture to High. I had trouble with the connection before but now I have an Ethernet rather than Wifi and the Internet modem is new as well as the computer (2 years old) which gave me no problem until a week ago. 3.8 GHz 8 Core Intel i7, AMD Radeon Pro 5500. I just wish I could play D4 without BootCamp.
