Empowered shrine fishing needs to go

Empowered shrine from potion needs to be removed as a gameplay mechanic. This is artificially inflating the time to obtain a pushable GR, for no good reason.

I suggest three solutions:

  1. Remove Empowered shrine from potion altogether
  2. Ensure that first shrine procced is ALWAYS Empowered Shrine
  3. Grant ALL shrines at start of rift. Potion no longer procs shrines. (This has a downside because extra CDR can sometimes hurt a build, esp. when interacting with Soul Shards. So Solutions 1+2 are recommended).

P.S.: If you are not someone who rips hundreds of keys to obtain a good GR for pushing, please do not comment on this thread. Your opinion is irrelevant.

The game needs less fun removal, not more. The empowered shrine buff is HUGE for every crusader build.

The point was removing the RNG… because RNG is not fun…

Personally i would rather remove potion buffs entirely, because those buffs makes grinding the gear too easy, and many builds can just reroll stats to different.
Too easy = not fun either

I agree on removing empowered shrine. I think they should:

  1. Remove empowered shrine and experience shrine
  2. Bring back 14secs power pylons on potions

Yeah, experience shrine needs to go too. Another solution is to make Empowered always be the first shrine you get (added to OP).

I think removing potion power makes sense. Less RNG the better at this point.

Just remove the shrine effects. I don’t like having to spam potion on CD.

What is wrong with you people. Why most all fun be destroyed in this dead husk of a game.

Ah. The Forum Lord speaks. All Hail the Forum Lord! :zipper_mouth_face:

You are posting on a public forum. No one is required to meet your criteria to comment on your post. Deal with it.

Empower is an outlier. Sure it makes a lot of build playable from trash tier. But it also causes certain build to be extreme outlier and there are a lot of voices on nerfing these outlier builds. But these builds are only powerful due to empower + anguish synergy. w/o them, they arent even close @ 20k. I just hope a key outlier factor is balanced oppose to touch base game that suffers post s30 when other seasonal themes does not offer such synergized outlying.

If you think there is fun in having uncontrollable variance in the rewards for your efforts, then you must not be very bright lol.

They have spoken, and they are completely right. There are a few reasons I personally don’t push GR150. The cringe and pathetic necessity of key fishing is one of the big two. I suspect that holds true for a lot of other people too.

You don’t need to fish anymore with the good builds. You cann do GR150 while sleepwalking.

Case in point: I’ve been a ZDH in quite a few GR 150 groups over the past few seasons, and although it’s not quite sleepwalking, if you have a competent team, GR 150 fishing is unnecessary unless you’re shooting for a spot on the leaderboards. Solo, however, your mileage may vary. :slightly_smiling_face:

Wouldn’t mind that either. In fact, it’s my preferred solution. But just to appease the masses with pitchforks I offered three “milder” solutions.

Well, then there’s 150 time attacks. The fishing never ends, just an issue of how much you are forced to do it.

Keep it as is. If you don’t want to fish, you can grind more gons.

More gons, same fish. Still 1 in 5 chance to get Empowered shrine.

Okay, we should also remove items, they’re actually even worse when it comes to fishing for them. Almost every primal you get is useless! Let’s remove them too. Who needs that 1 in 1000 primals that actually rolls with the stats you want.

I like the fishing, I like the RNG of having to play the rift correctly, on top of fishing for empower + good map + good mob type + good second map. I also like the 20k Paragon cap, because it gives me a constant reason to be on the treadmill, number go up is healthy for my mind.

My opinion stands. Keep it as is.

It’s like playing a coin pusher. You know that once you hit that one coin in that one right place you’ll see all the coins falling down and your brain gets a nice hit of dopamine. It’s addictive.

Kudos on moving the goalposts when you know you are wrong.

There’s fishing and then there’s too much fishing. The things you mentioned (except empower) have been a fixture of the game for many seasons, because they provide an acceptable level of RNG for players.

But adding another permanent 1 in 5 RNG mechanic is simply overshooting it. Not to mention, map fishing has gotten progressively worse over patches regardless of the Altar.

Says the person who only reads patch notes instead of playing the game and actually fishing.

Also, moving goalposts again? (You only addressed a small part of my post)

In the case of fishing, the patch notes and playing align. Those changes effectively reduced fishing frequency.

Easy with throwing around idioms. Not responding to every point isn’t moving goalposts.

And careful with the, “Yeah? And you’re ugly” rebuttal. It does nothing for your position.
