That is my reply to your entire post. There is no changing my stance on this. I have seen your posts, I told you already, I disagree with you on a fundamental level.
Those are patch notes from Season 26.
I am speaking from empirical evidence. In the current patch I typically spend upward of a thousand keys for a good Orek’s Dream to clear. In the older days, it would have been only hundreds.

Thats also true and i like that answer a lot but still, the doors uhh… or they could at least change so we could teleport past the doors or something…
And paragons dont give you Empower Shrine 50% cooldown red and 100% resource regen so theres that,
BUT we have altar power for mana on crit so Two buffs for regen are too much, and the cooldown is too much also enables too many sick interactions, like if the game isnt broken (easy) enough already

Fishing for Orek’s Dreams is impractical due to its rarity. Just fishing for regular good maps/mobs is sufficient, just as it was before Orek’s Dreams were added.
Easy to see that you either did not play S29/patch 2.7.6 at all, or didn’t do any serious pushing while you were at it. Big news: Orek’s Dream has become almost a necessity for a top clear this patch.
But let’s not digress here. This thread is about Empowered shrine fishing.

Game is for me, perfectly balanced in terms of difficulty, however I only really play LoD BombSader these days. It’s my favorite build. Tanky, big group pulls and barrels full of mead raining down on my enemies!
The cooldown is only really a problem because of Essence of Anguish, letting you hit over 85% CDR alongside empowered shrine. This enables some really whacky interactions for sure. But it’s just for one season. I don’t mind the empowered shrine, or the fishing for it at all. I enjoy it. Like I said earlier, it’s like playing the slot machine and hitting the jackpot.
There are plenty of regular floors that are just as good as Orek’s, especially since it’s well known that not all Orek’s map/mob combinations are perfectly ideal. The purpose of Orek’s Dream was to give a better chance at ideal combinations, not to guarantee them.

I don’t see you on the latest leaderboards. Do you have photo or video evidence of your claim? Just doing a 150 doesn’t mean much, it’s the rank that matters.

Wow, S28. The season with the very OP theme that we were originally meant to discuss, and where Orek’s Dream was actually not a necessity. Perhaps we should actually not digress, because you are hopeless to do otherwise.
Again, it’s not now or ever has been.
And with the altar combined with seasonal themes going forward, it’s still not going to be a necessity, even moreso. S30 is the first where all class/build predictions are all over GR150. That wasn’t even the case for S28.

Let’s set this straight. It was NOT a necessity before S29 (including S28), nor will it be a necessity in S30 and onwards, due to return of the Altar. But it IS almost a necessity in S29/patch 2.7.6.
Also, the “level of necessity” depends on the build. The more a build relies on killing trash to the exclusion of elites, the more it depends on OD. For instance, LoD twister relied a lot on OD in S26, even while other builds that season didn’t as much.
Because the extra progression orbs from Altar makes all builds less dependent on OD, this is one of the features that I enjoy most about Altar. But this cannot justify adding in Empowered shrine as an additional RNG mechanic.
Sigh, slippery slope, yet another fallacy. Just because I want one mechanic removed, doesn’t mean I want them all removed. Pretty easy to understand right?
