Emanate System Feedback: which items should and should not be included in it

I completely disagree.

When a group uses a shrine, they get 4 times the value of a solo player.

Flavour of Time doubles the value of a shrine for solo only.

Therefore, now groups would only get twice the value of a solo player when using a shrine. FoT emanate is not really an outlier. It’s trying to even out the playing field.

I personally don’t have something against the idea of FoT being able to be emanated.

The reason for why I put it on the list is because I sorta followed the implied guidelines that the devs have set here, which are

  • no class specific items
  • no (large) offensive buffs
  • no (large) defensive buffs
  • utility only

According to these implied guidelines, FoT is definitely an outlier, because its power is rather impactful - so impactful that I personally would not consider it an utility item anymore.

I hope my logic and line of thinking make sense.

I personally don’t advocate for or against changing these guidelines so that FoT could fit in this list, but if the devs only wanna have items on the emanate list that follow the guidelines that I think are implied in it, then FoT should be off that list.

That is the point.

Krelm’s bracer and belt would be nice.

And they could make some legendary gems work on Followers as well. It’s also not necessary to emanate them, just let them work on them would help already. Not sure if that’s possible, though…

tbh,if i have to choose only 1 item from all the above suggestion, only the rorg is need…that’d be very appreciate…

I think maybe you just misinterpreted the guidelines. They are trying to improve solo farming speed. FoT improves solo farming speed. It’s not ‘really’ an outlier.

They really need to add some belts to the emanate list in my opinion. But yes like others have said having a RoRG emanate from the follower would be awesome.

I don’t see FoT as OP. OP to what?
All classes and all builds can use it. There is no competition against anyone, so how can it be OP?

Aura system sounds overly complicated, why not stick to letting follower using all non class legendarys?

Regarding solo/group:
Why do groups still get extra xp?
Groups still have the benefits of tackling harder encounters than solo, that alone make up for more than enough xp to be motivated.

Possible.

That is a good point.
But e.g. an 800% damage buff and a 50-60% DR buff that can be gained from a Follower Aura also increases XP farming Speed.

I have to think about your point.

Because it would increase the discrepancy in power that already exist between the various builds.

Just look at LoD builds. Some LoD builds are absolutely top tier, while others are extremely underwhelming, and that is because not every build / skill has several legendaries that buff its main skill. There are some skills that don’t have a single legendary that buffs them, and other skills have several that buff them by several hundreds of percent.

So if Followers would just be able to use everything, then this would make this issue even worse.

Also, the Aura System is not complex, I would say.

Not necessarily op, but definitely significantly more powerful than all the other options on the current list. It definitely stands out.

Hey Blizz team, please consider expanding the current Emanate legendaries with more utility focused items such as ring of royal grandeur. It would benefit a lot of builds to mix and match different sets and incorporate fun secondary legendaries. Thanks!

Oculus ring already Emanates (or did prior to patch, not tested) as procs by player when equipped on follower and if player also equips Oculus ring than both proc giving 2 circles

These are the current legendary items that I think should Emanate which grant mostly utility, life, experience, resource bonuses.

*items already emanate in patch

Amulet
*Dovu Energy Trap - Increase duration of stun effects
Eye of Etlich - Reduces damage from ranges attacks
Golden Gorget Of Leoric - After earning massacure bonus skeltons are summoned for 10 seconds
Haunt Of vexo - Summons shadow clones when you stun enemies (change to s22 shadow clones for 60 seconds)
Hellfire Amulat - Gain xxx passive
Kymbo’s Gold - Picking up gold heals you
*Rakoff’s Glass of Life - Enemies have chance to drop health globes
*The Flavour Of Time - Pylon effects last twice as long

Ring
*Avarice Band - Pick up gold increase pickup radius
Broken Promises - After 5 consecutive non crit hits, 100% crit for 5 seconds
Hellfire Ring - 45% increased experience (instead of the currant reduced experience)
*Krede’s Flame - Taking fire damage increases resource
Leoric’s Signet - 30% increased experience (instead of the currant reduced experience)
Pandemonium Loop - Eniemies slain whike feared, explode fearing nearby enemies
Rechel/s Ring of Larceny - gain movement speed after fearing enemy
Ring of Royal Grandeur - Reduce set requirements by 1
Rogar’s Huge Stone - Increase life per second based on missing life

Belt
Cord of the Shema - Chance on hit to create energy shield that blinds and slows
enemies
Goldwrap - On gold pickup gain armour for 5 seconds
Insatiable Belt - Picking up health globes increase max life for 15 seconds
Sebor’s Nightmare - Haunt cast on nearby enemies when opening chest

Boots
Boots of Disregard - Gain life per second when standing still
Ice Climbers - Immunuty to freeze and immobillize effects
Illusionary Boots - Move unhindered through enemies
Irontoe Mudsputters - Gain movement speed based on missing life

Bracers
Ancient Parthan Defenders - Each stunned enemy with 25 yards reduces damage taken
*Custerian Wristguards - Picking up gold grants experience
*Nemesis Bracers - Shines spawn enemy champion
Promise of glory - chance for nephlam glory globe when you blind an enemy
Reaper’s Wraps - Helth globes restore primary resource
Warzechian Armguards - Destroy object to gain speed

Chest
Chaingmail - After earnining massacre bonus heal to full life
*Goldskin - Chance for enemies to drop gold on hit

Gloves
*Gladiator Gauntlets - After massacre bonus gold rains from sky
*Gloves of Worship - Shrine effects last 10 minutes
St Archew’s Cage - Elite damage gives absorb shield for 10 seconds
Tasker and Theo - Increase attack speed of pets

Head
Blind Faith - Chance on hit to blind enemies
*Broken Crown - Drop addition gems
Pride’s Fall - resource costs reduced after not taking damage for 5 seconds

Pants
Depth Diggers - Primary skills deal increased damage

Shoulders
Corruption - Increases pickup radius
*Homing Pads - Town portal uninterruptable
*Spaulders of Zakara - Items indestructible

Shield
Lidless Wall - Increase resource
Stormsheild - Reduces damage from melee attacks

*Sage’s Journey (3-piece set bonus)
Belt, Boots, Gloves, Head

*Cain’s Destiny (3-piece set bonus)
Boots, Gloves, Head, Pants

There are some suggestions that could be controversial but feel the bonuses are situaltional and not guaranteed best in slot compared to other choices available , especially with rings and Sage/Cain’s set options. Then there is also other legendaries that are useful to equip on follower that do not emanate.

Hellfire Amulat
Broken Promises
Ring of Royal Grandeur
Ice Climbers
St Archew’s Cage
Tasker and Theo
Depth Diggers

Some items suggested by OP would not need to emanate as they would not function any different other than doubling amount of procs

Deathseer’s Cowl - same chance of follower being hit as player
Puzzle Ring - Goblin active regardles if emanetes or not

The reason I put it on this list was to prevent it from eventually double-dipping.

I agree with all of hte ones on your list, except these here:

That can also give bonuses that are not utility.

It depends on whether or not you consider it Utility, because making something like a Power Pylon last twice as long is a rather offensive bonus.

This is also more offensive than utility.

That would allow even more for mixing sets, which would make balancing things even more difficult and also would give other bonuses that are not utility based.

That is a defensive / toughness bonuses.

This is also survivability / toughness.

These are indeed utility, but when e.g. Ice Climbers are combined with Stone Gauntlets, then it give a massive, massive toughness bonus.

Defensive.

this imo is kinda a borderline case

this is a borderline case as well, but by far not as powerful as FoT, so it could be okay.

Offensive - especially since there are builds that use Primary Skills as their main damage dealers, like the H90 set build (Frenzy).

Defensive

Obviously offensive for pet builds.

This is already Emanates in patch, so not advocating removal just yet

Agree included as alternative to The Flavour Of Time as there is no reason to not equip any other amulat on follower.

Included as no build makes use of this ring and there is more desirable ring choices, more of an experimental suggestion for PTR to review viability.

All these options to test on PTR, obvious benefit to solo GR but group play is more beneficial for paragon levels, gear and high level gems/augments if leaderboad rankings are priority.

For the majority of solo players these item will give alternative builds and some power increase that are solo only but not overpowered compared to group play

For non-season it is working fine. For season, all items should work besides class set items.

I would like to add Tasker and Theo to that list.

I disagree on this, currently Unity requites 2 item slots to be useful and if you do go into group you have to make sure to swap the one off your player character to something else or it’s wasted. Having Unity finally function as a single slot item effect seems like a much more reasonable idea.

just make every item work on follower and change ashara’s bonus.

even with this solo players won’t be any faster/stronger than group.

Unity is a defensive item, not an utility item.

It is an offensive oriented item, not a utility based item.

I explained in posts like this one or the thread below why letting every item work on followers is a bad idea and gave alternative suggestions.

For season I doubt the legendary items working on followers is as powerful as a 4th cube… But when it is, fine it is just season that has no theme now.

ngl I don’t really want a boring aura on followers that just hands out welfare GR levels just because some LoD build makes better use of one item than another, or any system that scales off botted levels to improve peoples’ rankings.

These items are already either never used or only useable by x so adding them to emanate doesn’t break anything no matter often you repeat that point or plug “Solo Boost”. It’s a given that items are going to have more impact on some builds than others. The point is allowing more opportunities to use the items without dramatically sacrificing player power in the process.
