Diablo V - Full 3D

Hi what do you think are the chances for Diablo V being in Full 3D?

None to none, unless they finally ditch the hideously outdated birds eye view and go third person.

I like the view for this type of game. If I wanted first person view, I would play FPS or elder scrolls type games.

3d would require wearing glasses too, which I donā€™t want toā€¦VR wouldnā€™t work for this type of game although would be funny to see someone ww around their house :slightly_smiling_face:

Keep Diablo the way it is, none of that first person :poop: :poop: :poop:
Play something else if that is want you want. Thank you Blizzard.

Tiffani : Alright, guys. We are going to go into a journey together; but before that, letā€™s take a look at what Diablo IV is. So Diablo IV is a Classic Isometric ARPG. John : Surprise! That classic camera.

As long as the perspective remains isometric, it can be full 3D.

I love isometric. And its really made a huge comeback. Pillars of Eternity, Wasteland 3, Divinity series, Pathfinder, etc. And the upcoming Baldurs Gate 3.

Its oviously rooted in the past, but to call it hideously outdated is a personal opinion only, and isnā€™t reflective of what the market is saying. Much the opposite in fact.

Thereā€™s like like 100 times the amount of 3rd person games vs isometric. Theyā€™re everywhere, like facemasks. We dont need any more.

Except most of them suck, the medieval-type ones anyway. Thereā€™s not a single GOOD satisfying third-person-view game with great magical gameplay, with lots of different spells and skills to thwack beasts and moonsters alike.

Because I pointed out you complain about people making threads you deem unnecessary, yet most of your threads are exactly that as well? Thatā€™s a sign of someone who spends far too much time on the internet and in this forum.

If the game was fully 3D, I wouldnā€™t mind the option to go 3rd/1st person. Itā€™d make things interesting, especially when a pack is sneaking up behind you ready to show you how sharp and pointy their weapons areā€¦ Through the front of your chest armor of course.

Wolcen had something like that, with the rotating camera and a high zoom threshold. It was almost third person view.

Unfortunately they gutted the game when transitioning from alpha to beta, and it just kept going downhill.

Why do you want Diablo become ā€˜just another gameā€™?

Witcher is one of those. Itā€™s not for me, but Iā€™ve heard and read a lot of good things about it. The fighting style isnā€™t my cup of tea, though.

Donā€™t know, I like and still like the angle of view for this type of game. Also not sure how or why someone would want a lot of the skills available in each diablo game in 1st person view.

Imagine all the ground effect skills, wouldnā€™t be able to see it very well. How would skills that involve movement like ww/strafe/dash work?

Trying to imagine a diablo Skyrim and canā€™t see it being a diablo game I would play. I am however anxiously awaiting a new elder scrolls non mmo game and fallout game.

Total snoozefest. For a game that relies on things getting done via combat, it completely fails to provide engaging and satisfying action. I abandoned Witcher 1 halfway through because I just could not stand it anymore. Didnā€™t make it past the first 20% of Witcher 2 because itā€™s equally boring. And Witcher 3 looks and plays just like it. Completely skipped it.

Itā€™s just as bad as Monster Hunter World. Main goal is to fight monsters, yet combat is the absolute worst part of the game. Clunky and glitchy, completely rough and hit-or-miss. What an embarrassment.

The Witcher, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, The Dark Souls games, Vampire the Masquarade, Risen, Dragon Age, Skyrim, Greedfall, Middle Earth, Dragons Dogma. Iā€™m sure thereā€™s quite a few more too if I googled them.

Do those games not qualify?

dark messiah was first person, nvm

I picked up The Witcher 3 plus all the expansions for dirt cheap through steamā€¦ Yeah the combat was a little weird, but I enjoyed the story which made up for the lacking in combat gameplay. It took a while to figure out how to fire the crossbow.

Dark Soulsā€¦ gives me nightmares about broken controllers. :stuck_out_tongue:

I agree completely regarding Witcher. I was sorry I couldnā€™t get a refund on Steam, but I was glad I got it on sale.

I just knew from watching YouTube that game wouldnā€™t be my cup of tea for movement styles. Love open world games like that but not the movement/fighting.

Letā€™s focus on Diablo IV first. Weā€™ll worry about Diablo V in about 10 years.
