I don’t think players would want a full 3d Diablo. Most players like the 3rd person view with SPEED to rip through the game. 3d may be too slow and boring for those types of players.

well I liked DIablo 1 most when it came out. Diablo 2 felt more refined but on the other hand already lacked some of the uniques atmosphere and you could feel the creeping influence of the lost vikings comic style blizzard guys - it was still good though and aged very well - better than Diablo 1.

The then released Diablo 3 is totally from another Dev Team and has nothing to do with Diablo besides the name in my eyes. Its a softie game without horror elements and without understanding the basic Diablo Vibe.

I want a game that catches the original Diablo Vibes. Imagine If Condor had made Diablo in 2020 I doubt it would be an isometric old school RPG lol. Diablo 1 was ahead of its time and overall very revolutionary, and a 2020 Diablo would be aswell…

But that shows that Blizzard never understood what was special about Diablo. I bet they hate the franchise now because they dont know what to do with it. Even tried to make it a smartphone game lol.

Even Diablo 1s music gives me more goosebumps than any perfectly rendered squishy Diablo 3 trailer

This has been a dream for many years!
D1 and D2 didn’t have the technology for a full 3rd person game at the time.
I was slightly disappointing that D3 was still overhead, but D5 should totally be full 3d!

Not a chance. Imo there are two reasons:

  1. People would have one less reason to play their main game, if there was another full 3D RPG.

  2. They’d have to slow down the combat, if you had legions of enemies swarming you all the time, from the 3D perspective, that would be confusing to most people.

  2. Fast paced game play is still obtainable even in 3rd person perspective. (ff7 remake, WoW)

Lets go! D5 full 3D!

Bad choice of words. I meant poeple would have less reason to play what Blizzard considers the company’s main game, WoW.
And no, WoW has indefinitely slower combat than both D2 and D3.

Really, if you want something different, go for a different game.

A Diablo universe game, but not D5, call it “Sanctuary” and have it 3rd person RPG.
3rd person is way more immersive then a static overhead locked camera, and Blizz could achieve a much darker feeling game.
