Him talking about the inventory is brilliant. It really is that simple lol

no, just no.

No stupid tetris, if anything it should not be more then D3 have. D2 was just too much

Thousands of players who requested more inventory space and stash tabs over years do not agree with you.

No, i don’t want inventory management and i want more stash and inventory space. Tetris inventory is frustrating and adds nothing but wasting time focusing on it all the time…
And i want all items to occupy 1 square/space only.

Why not?
I request more space and Tetris.

Because it rises cost of the service for not good reason. Money can be spent on more important things.

Like? Producing a cannibals diorama? XD

Dunno man, that Supporting Controllers on PC and Couch Co-op priority for console players was pretty damn important too. :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face: :money_mouth_face:

Personally I am for tetris inventory, but also I am okay with their decision not to use it.
But I can not accept rings and amulets to be same size as shields and huge weapons. It looks stupid, cheap, mobile etc.
At least when you equip it, it should have bigger icon or I dont know…something like that. Also I do not need image of my character standing at the center of my INVENTORY. It doesnt belong there.
You can use this space for bigger icons. I want this game to be about loot, about items, about art in it, not just numbers of huge damage and critical damage and so on.

Noooooooooooooooooo~
For gooooood’s sake nooooooooooooooooo~
If you enjoy tetris then go play tetris, Tetris inventory is not real tetris but pointless inventory management i.e. huge waste of time.
And don’t give me the load about realism. If you enjoy realism you should work two jobs instead of playing video games.

i think its just a vocal minority that thrives on nostalgia that wants inventory tetris.
it does not add depths or anything beside slowing the game so people can TP-sell-tp back-loot.

D2 tetris is too crazy, D3 is okay i guess but i think this new inventory look awesome

PoE has tetris on console…

Tetris has nothing to do with the amount of items, you can carry
I can make u a 1 slot inventory with space for 4 items and a Tetris inventory for 20-50 items
The difference is, with the Tetris inventory it can differ a lot

If you dont like tetris/inventory management and bigger/smaller looking immersive items you cannot call yourself a diablo fan.

While I accept that having to “Tetris” stuff is a pain…

  1. A dagger and a 2H sword being the same size kills the fantasy.
  2. Diablo is about gear. So I believe that gear looking big is a must. A WoWwy paperdoll/inventory like this https://cdn-wow.mmoui.com/preview/pvw71811.png could be the right choice for a non loot-centric game (they even repeat the icons), but not for Diablo. Gear should look bigger and paperdoll should have the slots over and not around the character.

Lol. Come on. That is such a tiny and meaningless aspect of D2.

Not really because the whole game is about looting
Ans the loot should be an important aspect and presented in a professional way

Want realism, say ye? Then I propose when picking up a suit of armor, you must kneel down and be unable to act for 5 seconds. If you get hit, you have to start all over again. Meanwhile, a ring would only take a scant 1 second. Furthermore, if the item is in a rainy, muddy, or slimy area, there’s a chance you lose your grip and have to start from zero, with the chance depending on the type of gloves you’re wearing. You can’t tell if it’s normal, magical, rare, or legendary until you pick it up, too. Also, if you pick up something super hot without proper hand wear you take fire damage. If it’s cold, you take cold damage and might have your attack speed slowed a bit because your fingers are numb. Armor is also hot when worn, so we need to add a hydration mechanic because all this running and fighting will make you sweat and you don’t want to get dehydrated. Food’s important, too, so you need to eat every four or five hours of game time. You also need to poop, but there’s also a morale mechanic here where you’ll get embarrassed if someone sees you while doing it in the wild isn’t as satisfying. Plus you’ll take extra damage if attacked while squatting. You also need time to pull your pants up and down, so don’t get interrupted.

Sound stupid? Because that’s the slippery slope some of you guys are on. You can’t pick or choose what aspects of realism you prefer while trying to use the idea as justification. And yes, I’m quite aware other games out there have done hunger systems, complete with food rotting in your inventory if you don’t eat it fast enough. Like inventory tetris, a lot of people found it not fun and a pain in the butt. Other games learned from that and instead made food a temporary buff system. And unlike the tetris, hunger systems at least presented a challenge to game play, particularly if quick town visits weren’t a factor. This is just clamoring for inconvenience for the sake of faux enlightenment. You have to believe the tetris adds depth because the moment it doesn’t is the moment you realize how much time you wasted wrestling with it, and worse, being wrong on the internet in front of other people.

In the end, games have to take liberties to help maintain pacing and keep players interested. Or I could argue we all innately know spacial magic and are just growing/shrinking things on demand. I mean, c’mon, it IS a realistic lore reason, no…? Also, I still want to store daggers in empty armor because it’s still technically inventory space.
