Diablo IV Announcement Discussion

So a MOBA style PVP option would be great in D4… It just fits so well with everything.

There are already many single player games to play. I’m glad a quality MMO type of game is coming out. I didn’t really care for WOW’s subscription system and GW2 was boring to me. I played a ton of ESO, but they implemented BOP and the game just started to get stale. You have D3, PoE, Grim Dawn and much more to play solo.

Blizzard, we want stats. BUT NOT ON ITENS, ONLY ON CHARACTERS!

I was quite in awe with the cinematic trailer! Now that’s scary.

I dont really like the shared open world though. It ruins the experience a bit for me seeing all these other people running around… i played a game that was quite similar and would make my game lag and was so annoying! I hope yall can make some kind of private world because i actually like that “lonely” feel!

You will be able to enjoy all the functions of the game, including bosses, while playing alone. This is already confirmed.

For the love of God make rares useful again for end game. Go look at some d2 rares like circlets and rings and amulets. Nobody wants to wear all legendary items. It seems like you guys are basically subbing legendary items for set items in D4. Let us utilize multiple kinds of items in end game. D2 made some magic and rare items useful along with runewords and uniques.

I hear ya!

Hell, in D2, I’ve finished the game on Hell Difficulty still wearing a couple of Magic (blue) items.

In D3, Normal, Magic and Rare items are nothing but Crafting Mats. Except maybe for a short time after creating your first new Seasonal Character. :stuck_out_tongue:

Iirc ,in the video i think the white faced man tells Lilith to 'save us '… Any speculation about why they need Lilith to save them?

guys, given the dark theme… d2 necromancer is required… pleeeeeaaaaaaassssssseeeeee make this happen

Has there been any mention of a hardcore mode

Ok its yes cut and pasted this from there Q&A

Q: Will there be Hardcore?
A: Yes! We’ve loved this feature ever since it started as a player-created and self-imposed challenge in the original Diablo.

Yes i Agree with Technik330 this is what people asked for and they have Delivered. A lot of people asked for a d2 take off and this is it with rune-words and slower game play i am also looking forward to seeing this game in the final game stage.etc This is still early stages as we know Bring on Diablo lV.

I don’t like necro in general as a class in D3. Those bones or corpses they use in their skills seem coming from no where and look weird. Moreover, those brittle bones used don’t give me the feel they can really do any effective damage by just being thrown crazily to the monsters.

Talking of which, I would like D4 could include some aspect of area effects in some specific locations. Like a holy church may prevent casting of raising corpses. (A necro can use their blood spell there.) Ice spells are weakened in areas like near a volcano and fire spells in contrast get strengthened.

They just need to make the items have the effect which applies to all resource types of every classes, eg, ‘1% increase in resource pool of the character’ instead of specifically saying ‘increase in 8 mana’. I like the idea that a barbarian doesn’t really use mana as a sorceress and uses rage instead.

I like your points and support them. Except I also enjoy using the archon in D3. It is quite iconic to me but it can be an optional.

I would like to be in the alpha and beta testing when It’s available.

No amazon no buy. Is this ARE diablo? or just another someone else (jay wilsons diablo). I want “Agony” levels of darkness I come to expect from diablo, not some weak sauce game. I just notice your using the same art director for d4 from d3 John Mueller…

They just need to change charm from item to a feature. So we would have a charm tab where we would unlock each charm slot to make it work. And one item to roll charm status randomly based on that charm type. This solve all the space problem. Because charm would not be one item anymore. It would be a feature you unlock and you use some magical item to roll it. So they just add 10 sticky charms per example to that charm tab option. So each player would customize a lot more each class.

Regarding itemization in Diablo 4:

I wish there was some overlap between item rarities. For example in the slide below the stat ranges are always higher for each rarity (rare > magic > normal). I think it would be much nicer if the attack/defense values had overlap, so for example:
Normal: 70-100
Magic: 80-110
Rare: 90-120

The higher rarities already have extra affixes and the way you are doing it right now (just like in D3) it completely obsoletes magic and normal items. If there was a tiny bit of overlap they could still be useful in some situations. Additional benefit is that numbers don’t grow as big either for attack/defense.

I believe you don’t know some things …
john muller joined the diablo team, to create the necro pack; in the artistic part of the necromancer and the last areas introduced in d3, there is his hand and I remind you that that part of d3 is the most gothic and bloody of the whole game.
he has nothing to do with jay wilson in this context XD.
I understand being wary, but let’s not say nonsense now.
then what are you talking about? d4 has nothing to do with d3 in the artistic part, a single glance is enough to understand that we have returned to the atmosphere that has always characterized diablo and we are talking about an alpha game, think how it will be when everything is complete.

I’m excited and cautiously optimistic! The trailer was amazing, and given the early stage of development, I thought the demo looked pretty good too.

The open world MMO aspects didn’t strike me as too intrusive, but my one question in that regard is will there be multiple servers and server centers?

My personal wish: that the game will launch with a demon hunter

Keep in touch!
