Diablo 4 - What's The Point

What is their objective? Do they have a statement goal with D4? Why did they just not make a 2nd D3 expansion?

Did they really make D4 so they could add some little skill tree and fix multiplayer while rehashing Diablo 3? Make it a D2 sequel or burn that worthless garbage to the ground.

Well that’s an easy answer: They like money.

Other than that if you think it’s worthless garbage I guess don’t buy it. The whole idea of “I don’t like it, so the people who do should have it taken away” is stupid.

because they want to make a better game
go back to the roots, to darkness, to medieval, to serious

Diablo forums: We need to get back to real Diablo when it was dark and serious!

Diablo 2: Here’s some cows with polearms we made as a joke in reference to a Diablo 1 rumour.

Revenue.
That’s the only objective.

Quit trolln. You know what the point is. You know all the answers to your questions.

I’m not really disappointed by the tree tbh, it’s not like D2 had a huge one. Sure a more complex one might be better, but then again it’s not the skill-system itself that has to be complex all by itself, but rather it’s integration within the broader combination of (smaller but well-defined) systems

Bottom line being you can create a crap game with 500 skills, and a good game with 20, what is important is to make sure all those 20 work in well-intended manners and each have unique ups and downs and are perfectly incorporated with gears, character stats, items, and sockets even at times

Yes, I’m disappointed by the devs (a bit), by the production quite a lot, but not disappointed by the fact that D4 doesn’t copy PoE or other games with super complex skill system/s rather

You should have stopped there. The rest of your post just turns it into a big troll.

They failed to monetize D3.

They will try again with D4.

Activision decided to cancel the second expansion after the first expansion didn’t meet goals. It is what it is.

While topic is an obvious trollbait, 2nd expansion cancellation is indeed an interesting matter to discuss.

From what I remember of reading about that, apparently the powers that be wanted it cancelled before RoS was even out due to the response to Diablo 3 Vanilla. They basically decided the game was already a failure before the devs were properly given time to even see how RoS would play out.

Though the response and even the existence of the second expansion is basically the area of speculation and leaks, so anything should be taken with a grain of salt.

This isn’t a speculation, as we see real huge parts of it (no way devs would do all that for D3 RoS seasons). As for the cancellation theory - I don’t believe it is true, as the sales is the most convincing argument here. And they were good.

In my understanding they didn’t want to waste time (D3 was quite outdated in 2014 in terms of graphics). Newer Diablo version was needed and they didn’t want to form an absolutely new team for it instead of moving all D3 team onto the new project (as they did).

Sometimes I wonder if Strolln is “strolling” or a play on “still trolling”. I will say with certainly the dude is 100% passionate about D2.

fill in extra events and examples and leave unused options for next generation diablo players. like this example. I suggest they do come up with guides. there are training halls in other games. guides would offer more correct formula. I think guides will be handy in case of missed quests in more random map settlings to pick up and pick off on lost or skipped main event quests for rewards. one might later stop in guide to fill in skipped quests. this would offer more free flowing random dungeon designs and nitty picking needing quests along the story line events. and adjusted game play dynamics

I had later thoughts. that ‘guides’ could return to GUILDS and offer quests for later and or training for skills or rewards giving multi uses of game play. 'guide’s also would make a hand held or mobile phone game more playable for lacking functions on phone. I can see a lot off possible outlets that might make a story mode deeply moving and possible. after all. who is eons. but I know enough fusio- eons was a prophecy linage written but a writer long time back of a coming era. I think (sounds like) fusio- eons (what the writer said something that sounds like) would be coming into such era. this game is based on an unknown story line. so it mixes well with a new plot they had already offered. as for the fire in the sky story had already been told. out pops another prophecy when or if blizzard dares trek the dangers of such exploring insights. The whole plot load already sounds adjusted to such entrapment based regardless if it was by moral blood or immortal linage of such story embraced as this mythic eons (perhaps time perhaps space). So at least diablo can move beyond such ditch point lore offered with a nice insight of star pauldrons that drop as normal item. sense I take it as diablo died because he combined into a prime evil into lost it’s former character. the only point of this game is left into franchise. I wouldn’t by any truth of diablo existence unless no doubt cain knew he left his clone beyond realms from it’s ‘real’ prime form. But I can relate to peoples wonder on cleric class some. thinking it might be offered a mold of storyline RPG element of hindering players to help them think of not picking up certain wepons like swords forbidden against God realm. or maybe the cleric is so damn hard to unlock needing to tithe every part of the game to unlock like a real story line RPG. I see not reason for some to waste there time on content of storyline that might wish to unlock it with a few hours of day labor early. But maybe you should let people decide more were there money might go in unlocking things. I do not think it’s fair for someone to have legit job unable to spare time to unlock a character. I think it’s fair play advantage of fair trade commissions in certain ethic view points. I do not want it play to win. I think pay to be fair is nicer way of placing an ethic code. time for time in some cases. time costs what and spare it were? is time that matters for next game. or will it be in the stars only. the cosmos to dream on the next world do I tarry my weary travels needs. is there a fitting end to this broken road. I have already traveled placed long lost long ago. How ever did I get back here I do not yet know, it all seemed like a dream. fears, of even touching one thing that I would only be repeating my last steps. - time travels cost

So the basic reasoning behind that is that YOU liked D3?

And those cows do the comical sounds like “moo” “moo” “moo” and have comical death animation.

Honestly so true… i reinstalled d3 and quit in a week after finishing campaign, literally 1 button snooze fest. just started playing d2 again and cant believe how much better it is then d3 even 20 years later.

Still 10x darker than the darkest part of Diablo 3.
