Indeed. Whilst itā€™s been tremendous fun to have been spinning for almost six months straight on my Barb, my DHā€™s are starting to feel left out. Iā€™m interested to see what the new set is based on (and Iā€™ll play the heck out of it on the PTR) but also to see if they do anything to anything else, e.g. legendaries get new affixes and/or higher multipliers. (Just, please, donā€™t make me farm yet another HPS or Karleiā€™s).

At this point I would be happier if instead of focusing the set on a specific ability to buff it to god tier, make a great set that has a good 2pc bonus (like marauder for example, but could be other skill of course, like Vengeance gets all runes and double duration), a 4pc that gives us 70-80% DR unconditioned on enemies being hit or having a debuff on them (like smoke powder or vault, after you use the skill you gain DR for 15-30s), and 6pc buffing both spenders and generators to a competitive level.

This way they can tweak our legendaries and open up all sort of fun builds instead of the boring 1 skill gets superbuffed and is very good at either density or single target.

Thereā€™s some mechanics that I wouldnā€™t mind seeing changed or worked on. I know that some folks say not to expect many re-works of passives, but if I could only ask for one thing and one thing only but it was guaranteed to be granted, then it would be to rework the Archery Passive.

How to do it, Iā€™m not sure but something along the lines of working melee weapons into the passive with the benefit of then either adding cooldown, or able to dual wield them, or increased attack speed. Something along those lines.

And then if they decided to give us more melee weapon options beyond the daggers and Sword of Ill Will, like maybe one that works with spike traps, or something in conjunction with the new set, Iā€™d be over the moon.

Iā€™d probably still UE mostly but Iā€™d be pretty tempted to give the new set and passive a workout beyond just testing it on the PTR.

I wish we UEers could get away from Yangā€™s too. We could if our resource costs went down to normal levels. Until then weā€™re stuck with Yangā€™s because we need that resource cost reduction. Of course the irony in this is that this very same build restriction is also what is propping up Captain Crimsonā€™s set in our builds too. Without it the set is nigh worthless to us.

I mean we only have 2 legendary items that affect multishot. Making another one would be redundant just to replace one weā€™re using already.

Itā€™s fine that the set is based on RCR, thereā€™s nothing wrong with that (look at AoV shotgun sadders, they are built around RCR too and nobody hates it).

Crimson is great because it provides you passive DR (the dmg from CDR is negligeable at best), and this for a lot of classes is the place where they can get their big DR from when they lack 80% DR items / set bonuses. W/o even trying too hard you can get 70% RCR with UE MS which is huge for survival / toughness, w/o it you would be a glass cannon that would die randomly from ā€œstuffā€ w/o even knowing what killed you.

What UE MS needs is a bigger 6pc multiplier and/or adjustment for yang & dml multipliers too.

please noā€¦as someone who just finally got a fairly well rolled primal DML, I have no desire to farm that or Yangā€™s againā€¦

Buff the 6pc, add WindChill to 2pc or 6pc and let us use another DPS passive (or Awareness) instead of Thrill.

AND - make Primal non-set legendaries upgrade with changes like set itemsā€¦not ancients, just Primals.

You do realize that Primal is just an ancient with top rolls yep? You donā€™t need one, sure itā€™s nice to get one that you can use, but is nowhere a necessity.

Plus you will have to re-farm whatever legendaries they will change when the new DH set is released anyway, irrelevant if you play NS or Season (same as happened with barbs / WDā€™s / Wizards etc).

PS: I have a perfect Yang primal on season softcore and a perfect DML primal on HC season, one reforged other from kadala, would trade them for non-ancient ones with buffed powers any time of the day ^^

What bracer options does DH have?

Maybe introduce a DPS centric bracer that would augment Hatred Spenders, like:

Gain 100% increased damage for 3 seconds everytime you hit with a hatred spender. Stacks 3 times multiplicatively.

That is like AoVā€™s 2pc.

Nice things about buffing the 6p is that it buffs generators too. Buffing Yangā€™s/DML only would leave UE grenades even farther behind.

Buffing the 6p to buff UE Multishot, then doing something on top of that to add some power to grenades in some way (maybe add a legendary affix to Balefire Caster?) would go a long way.

To do that they need to add another DR item because every DH runs with Wraps of Clarity (except Impale and maybe RF) for all sets / builds because we need the toughness. We canā€™t really afford to trade our defenses for more offense, dead dps = 0 dps.

The only way to make it work is to buff 6pc to boost damage and even add another defensive layer or improve existing ones (from 50% to 60%, from 60% to 70% etc).

Am really intrigued what the new set will be based on (skills wise) and the mechanics involved (hope it will be something fun and not a nightmare like firebird / talrasha etc where you need to keep track of dozen of things just to make it work).

There is always that FLIP ring for DR.

I mean Barb wears Band Of Might for DR. Wiz wears Karini Ring for DR. But squishy DH donā€™t want to wear Elusive Ring?

But I agree, Elusive Ring needs to give 80% DR too. This way, DH can junk CoE for Elusive. Then wear a DPS Bracer.

Obviously. But since Iā€™ve yet to find either as ancient with anything close to perfect rolls on any drops since, my point remains the same.

I prefer not messing with existing set supporting legendaries.

Is that what witch doctors and crusaders did that are soloing GR 150 in non-season and DPS in the 4 man meta?

They do this with new OP sets, which the communities of WDs and Crusaders had no influence on at all.

The new sets for the DH (and Necro) are still unkown and it remains to be seen what they will be about and how strong they might be. I think that Blizzard is way too far in the process of designing them, so Blizzard probably wonā€™t make big changes to these based on community requests. After all, next patch is due in 6 to 8 weeks, unless they delay it due to Corona.

The requests in this thread are mostly about changes to items/sets/skills currently available to us.

Find what? This thread is talking about hoped-for changes in patch 2.6.9 which hasnā€™t even been announced for the PTR yet.
