Devs, are you bending the knees at the last minute?

I am not nitpickiing your English. My point is that official/state polls almost always go through a vetting process. Well-respected polls often consider multiple opinions to make the poll questions as neutral as possible.

For the reddit poll, I would suggest that the bias is less in the questions than in sampling bias.

So Rod Fergusson implying that additional features are coming post-D2R launch and that there was some good ideas in the reddit poll is also a lie.

If you truly believe that Rod is a liar and he is the head of the entire diablo franchise, how can you trust that D2R will not change more?

Logically, you could make the same argument and say that they are not making more changes until after D2R launch so that no/few change crowd can not refund.

I don’t know why you keep putting words in his mouth, The direct quote is that they would consider changes. Not guarantee that any changes would happen.

To be fair, we already know that the D2R team and Rod are “liers”. Whether it is bad intentions can be discussed, I would assume it is not, but they already removed TCP/IP after promising it as a feature.
Clearly anything can change, no matter what has been said previously.

Because it suits his goals, its called confirmation bias. :joy:

How have they lied? I have yet to see anything in regard to this. I don’t follow him on twitter, and from what I have seen, oh wait, it was one post.

Can you provide any info that he has given, that was in fact a lie?

I don’t think you should talk so detrimentally about someone you hope can invoke some of your requests.

Again, this is with no knowledge of him lying.

That is not what I said. I clearly used the word "implying’ that does not mean that he explicitly stated it. Here is my quote. Please edit your post to reflect what I actually wrote rather than your misinterpretation.

He didn’t imply anything, you inferred that. The problem is what you infer is just wrong.

Let’s say your right. I clearly did not say that he stated it.

You said he implied it. He didn’t.

Stop arguing about the wrong issue, when you already know you are wrong.

I have now had to tell you twice that you are wrong, about the same subject material, because you believe you said something else when you in fact literally verbatim wrote it.

Rod Fergusson:

A lot of the stuff that we’re doing is what was there in the original. We’re really focused on having an authentic experience. You can still connect locally through TCP IP if you want to! That was there in D2. It’ll be there in D2R. We’ve really focused on making sure that if there’s something about the core experience you loved, we’re bringing that over. But we do get a lot of benefits from being on a more secure platform.

Well, I am not going to hide the truth just to gain friendly favors. Besides, lets be real, he likely isnt going to read my posts, or any other posts around here.

Well shucks, I guess you can blame the hackers for that one can’t you? Next.

So you think I am boot licking now, or white knighting?

Please read my prior response.

What, no I didn’t imply that at all. You told me I should not criticize Rod if I wanted changes. I merely responded that I wouldnt stop pointing out problems just because of that.

It wasn’t a lie when he said it.

Is that better clarification?

I guess we would need to ask him again, oh wait. It was a security issue, as far as I know.

We are off topic here.

As said, I doubt he had ill intent with it. But he was unable to deliver on his promise.

Or an excuse.

If it was really a security issue, you can just replace/fix it. Plenty of other modern games manage to have P2P just fine.

D2R was supposed to be a faithful remaster. But they are not delivering. Instead features are taken away.

Let’s end this. Here are his recent quotes for all to read for themselves.

" No new features till after launch. "

“Awesome feedback! Focused on getting to launch right now but some good ideas here.”

“We’re heads down right now on getting everything ready for launch. After that we’ll be assessing what updates we’ll be making.”

The top quote seems unambiguous that there will be new features after launch.

I certainly dont think he is saying changes will happen, but he is clearly saying that they might happen.

Whether you believe what he says is a very different matter.

Honestly, it will be extremely surprising if no changes happen at all. At minimum they will probably do something about console lobby.

they will listen and make changes in d4
look at d3, they really make a lot of difference. however, when players tried d3 they found that the change in d3 isn’t what they feel comfortable

now, d4 is going to look like d2 and d3 and some new features. Check what’s in d2 but not in d3 appears in d4

Personally, I take these quotes collectively to mean that there will be new features after launch. The specific features will be decided after launch with the possibility that they already know a subset of changes that they will most likely implement barring unforeseen circumstances.
