I agree with you on this one. Actually would have written pretty exact comment about this thread as you have.
Big ups.

Not true. It is a survey from objective D2 fans. They knew that D2 NEEDS some changes.
Every time the same “argument”. Very laughable.
Most D2 fans want changes. Only the small “core” of blind purists dont want changes.
I never got past act 2 inferno, I have had my avatar this since. I didn’t have time to nolife/auction house life. Played a WW barb with sub par gear when T10 was the “new” inferno. Saw kripparian play, was kinda upset that he was able to beat it, given the certain gear he had, and how hard it was to actually obtain it. Kudos to him still though for being first to complete it pre nerf.
You are not alone.
No one of my friends is forum user here ( and they’ve the game pre-ordered ) and much less they use reddit. No one in my group wants new content, we used to play Diablo 2 and we want to play it again remastered now. Maybe the base player that use that socials and have voice on that surveys like some changes, but that doesn’t mean all base players thinks the same. 8k players survey is a very very small part of the players that are going to play this game, and I’m tired to see this kind of surveys trying to be the voice of all of us, cause they are not.
It’s the first time on my life that I’ve pre-ordered a game, and I did this time because I love this game and I think they where doing right with the direction of REMASTER ( the same game you know and love PRESERVED ) and the best way to let them know they are doing the things right is supporting it with money so I pre-ordered the game.
I’m against new content made by Blizzard, but I’m definitely for new content made by the community. I’m totally against the PvPers and the fake Diablo 2 “vets” that claim they have been running the community for 10 billion years and they know everything; but these guys I would argue have better sense of what could be fun new content then professional devs coming back and looking it at 20 years after the fact.
Additional features do NOT mean the features you requested LOL
He said “There are some good ideas” - Doesn’t mean that’s what you are getting.
This is just putting the cart before the horse at its finest.
Mr. LLama and his followers make up for maybe 5% of the community. Also, 9000 users on a poll is a drop in the ocean compared to the actual total user count.
Rod also stated “Its not about what gets most votes” but everyone moves past that part of the tweet. #DONTSHAKETHEJELLO
That was only because Jay Wilson put the order out for his team to double all numbers for health, damage and resistances on mobs in inferno. Of course that will make a game harder, but it was a cheap, lazy and ineffective way to produce a quality difficulty. All it did was piss people off, and it was quickly nerfed.
True. But some people are acting as if it is guaranteed there will be no changes.
That is quite the same.
Which is very much how it should be.
Behave as one that deserves to be treated as an adult, and you’ll be treated as an adult.
Simple stuff, really.
True.
Of course, I never said that they were, so thanks for clarifying something that I never said or even thought was accurate.
Exactly so Blizzard may introduce things that are less popular. I wonder what less popular things that they might consider seriously. I do not know.
From the D2R accessibility blog post, there may some clues in what they say and the fact that their screenshot of the “OPTIONS” menus show a tab called game creation that was absent in the beta. In the beta, we know that game options were set in the lobby/game creation screen (e.g. number of players and level restrictions). Presumably, this tab if it goes live may mean other options that can be selected at game creation.
Lets thank Rod for his tweet reply on the 26th.
“We’re heads down right now on getting everything ready for launch. After that we’ll be assessing what updates we’ll be making.”
FFA at launch. Once we see this happen, good luck changing it after.
That is my expectation.
So what do you think is in the “game creation” tab in the options menu?
This is what makes me hopeful for D2R
I really can’t understand people wanting the game to be stale and dead.
Apparently you missed the official blizzard survey that went out 2 days ago in which they literally had everything on this list. Meaning they are strongly considering EVERYTHING on the list. lmao. I can’t wait until post-launch when we get a few of these QoL features and watch the purists lose their minds because stacking runes is slightly more convenient.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Diablo/comments/pcnmqh/d2r_new_blizzard_email_survey_questions/
Features discussed in some of the polls for example there was one question in some poll asking "do you want the game to auto-fill name on game creation(like if you name game FFA, game automatically ads number 1 it becoming ffa1 and ffa2 ffa3 etc) and stuff like that
I dont like the “end game” content idea unless it’s something like maps that’s scale up to monster lvl 99 or 101 technically w.e.
I also cant see this being done right. And sure I’d take those other changes but I can also live without them. I want an experience as close to original with only a few QoL improvements…
Giving bugs that changes how the game plays is nothing anyone asked for (WSG) and I’m tired of saying it.
how are you going to stack gems/runes with out opening these items up for duping. items in diablo 2 have unquie ID tags on them. to prevent duping. by stacking them in anyway will remove these tags opening them up for dupes. majorty of players asking for this do not understand this downside to stacking.
I don’t even think D2 has 9k active players now days lol.
Probably only season to season changes.
Speculation of course.
