If I have to choose between llama and Dbrun, Ill side with Dbrun on changes. It is exactly what I want for D2R.
Improved but nothing game breaking.
EDIT: The problem I have with the game same as other core fans is my own age. I am no longer schoolboy like back in the day where I could play hours and hours of D2 while at risk of failing school. Most of us got families since, jobs and although we all welcome D2R we are no longer in position of being ‘hardcore’ as back in the day. We want to enjoy Classic we loved but with a bit eased QoL changes. Personally I would love to spend 1-2 hours a day, maybe bit more of the weekend for the next couple years and this would be fine with me as I would enjoy the game over long run but without beating myself over stuff like running to town to sell single item 100 times per game because of lack of bag space due to being filled with charms, same as replenishing arrows.

Yeah I lean toward his take also. The llama one was pretty inconsistent. That being said I could spend hundreds of hours playing either outcome happily.
Edit: Llama had a good follow up video and I also liked his take there mostly.

Loot filter is honestly must have on release so I agree with him on that.
Skills tree/skill rework for future patches or even expansions if they can do it.
He talks well, I definitely agree with everything he said.

Yeah, I agree way more with pretty much everything he said.

Llama is literally the 1% of Diablo 2 trying to tell the other 99% that the game is fine exactly as it is and not at all flawed or in need of fixes.
Most likely he is a huge user of RMT/trade websites, as a large amount of people who are fighting for no changes are D2JSP users. If the game changes in favor of players, websites like D2JSP will lose traffic (and money), so it’s undesirable.

Actually, all of the disputes here is 1% of Diablo 2. Hardcore players arguing with hardcore players.
Most players will leave after completing D2 singleplayer on normal difficulty, this is the way that most people will play this game. I myself maybe will do 2-3 characters, maybe complete hell 1 time and leave too.

nice to accuse people of somthing you dont know anything about…
so its better to listen to Dbrunski? he whants is make it like all the mods out ther.
btw. Llama is for som changes. like many others of your post you just make thinks up to fit your logic.

I’ve watched both videos and my opinion is my own. =)
Llama’s arguments all boiled down to “but this makes the game easier!” even in places where it has no impact on difficulty itself. He overgeneralized a lot of the changes and did not understand some of them at all, but his word is being heeded because he’s big and popular. The literal, actual, bloody factual definition of the 1%.
As for mods? So what?
Mods for D2 are more popular than D2 itself right now.
So maybe, just MAYBE, the mods are doing something right, and D2 isn’t.
Just food for thought, you know? I know it’s hard to swallow that D2 isn’t a perfect game and that it could be improved for the better of a much larger playerbase.

I mean I’ll stay and play as long as the game holds my interest.
With the correct QOL changes and such, I could see myself playing this game very long-term. But without those, I may not play very long, or even, I may refund outright.

ofc the mods do good. its way easier then orginal d2, and its somthing new ish. you get all you want already minus the 3d. so why dont you just keep to mods?
i have never said D2 was perfect. agian you just make up you own storie to fit what you like.

Ok
Its ok though, I think. I just wanna complete game with new graphics. Playing the same game for too long is really strange thing. Its not dota or LoL or CS.
Really good answer. thats just show iam right. all you doo is make things up to fit you belives… kindergarten kidt does that.

Fortunately blizzard interviewed mrlama and not dbrunski, for the good of d2r. He is a pd2 streamer, so he is good with changes, he likes them, or at least he makes some profit streaming those pd2 games.
He said that he wants a 1:1 release with only the announced shared stash and optional autogold at release, wich shows that he has some common sense.

Llama streams PD2 also. Lol. He’s also mainly a speedrunner so most of his views are driven by that.

som of the big monsters dont even look diablo like.
first they say. improved drop rate… like all the other mods you got drop all the time. items look op af. bigger stash to more charms. no thx. dont wanner play game ther makes it easyer.
Yes, improved drop rate, true, but difficulty of mode is way harder than diablo 2 which is piece of cake compare to Hell unleashed. When I first killed Baal on normal, I was fighting him half of hour.

I am happy that the devs invited Llama and not someone else to blizzcon. This shows that they care about delivering the game as it was with little to non changes. I am convinced they will deliver what we all expect and this is what diablo was.
