Anybody knows if Danetta’s set gonna be reworked?? Would be nice…
Nobody knows, we can only make suggestions:
The Hatred costing is great. I wouldn’t want to see it lose that. But it does need some significant tuning and/or legendary items/powers that complement it.
The biggest issue is that it occupies both weapon slots, which for DH are some of the most valuable for: Yang’s Recurve, Dawn, Karlei’s Point, Bombardier’s Rucksack, Dead Man’s Legacy.
By using the Danetta’s set, you lose BOTH slots and can only cube ONE thing from the list above which is a very big loss no matter what build you use!
What about reworking the clones, from Danetta’s Spite, to be true clones of yourself, similar to those from Haunt of Vaxo, and tweak the 2 piece bonus a bit to make it more appealing:
(2) Set:
- Vault costs 8 Hatred instead of Discipline.
- Vault deals 800% increased damage.
- Clones Mimic your stats and actions
- Gain 20% Damage and 5% RCR for every active clone (max 5 clones)
Just a rough idea
Please provide Maths…
Danetta’s is a cool fun concept - but just not viable for much.
Just as a note since the +100% damage (+20% x 5) is only 5 GRs, the clones from Haunt of Vaxo only deal a fraction of the damage you deal (about 10%), so that part wouldn’t have a significant effect if they’re modeled on those clones (10% x 5 = +50%). Is the intent that the clones would instead have your full damage capacity? That may solve the large damage gap Danetta’s/Vault has currently. Otherwise the set would still continue to have major issues.
In terms of damage / GR performance:
-
Danetta’s, of course, cannot combine with Legacy of Dreams / Legacy of Nightmares, due to being a set.
-
Danetta’s cannot combine meaningfully with The Shadow’s Mantle, as the 6000% bonus is mutually exclusive with equipping the hand crossbows. This is a complete non-starter and would likely be mired in the GR 40-50 range even at max Paragon and Caldesan’s.
-
Danetta’s could combine with other small sets like Captain Crimson’s, Born’s, etc. - assuming there are also some reworks coming for the sets like Blackthorn’s, Demon’s, etc… Currently this is very poorly supported, as only Crimson’s is offering any real boost, and Crimson’s can actually be combined with the 6-piece sets (and is assumed in some of the notes below). Using Vault as the primary damage source, even with max ranked Caldesan’s, etc. this would likely not exceed GR60 due to the lack of a large set multiplier (9x from Danetta’s is very minor in context of this game’s current state) and lack of compounding multipliers from supporting legendaries, along with the fact that Vault’s damage is 300% at its base, which is very little.
-
Danetta’s can combine with Embodiment of the Marauder 6 and could have some minor synergy by cubing Helltrapper, I suppose, but does not interact with Marauder 4, making its interactions with the set limited and sub-optimal.
-
Danetta’s can combine with Unhallowed Essence 4 and 6 by triggering Vengeance, but then the damage is really coming from Vengeance. Additionally, it’s still not very compelling damage, as you’re working off of a base damage of 240% from Vengeance.
-
Danetta’s can combine with Natalya’s Vengeance, benefiting from the 141x multiplier. Currently, as a build that uses Vault as its primary damage source, this is likely the optimal route out of currently available options. However, even if we assume, very generously, all Rank 157 Caldesan’s and Paragon 10K (9250 into Dexterity), the results are underwhelming. With those assumptions, you should be able to achieve about 3.75 Vaults/second (25% Paragon, 30% Shadow Power), dealing 62B each, for 232B damage/second, except when you have to pause every 10 seconds to fire Rain of Vengeance, which would deal about 159B. There are likely some efficiencies you can eke out, but I just threw together something quickly in D3Planner. Given the typical GR mob health values and RG health values, this would be able to clear about GR 85 without too much issue, and push somewhere a few above that. I didn’t factor in Area Damage, which would speed it up a bit, but I also didn’t factor in moving between packs of enemies, which slows it down, and I also didn’t factor in loss of DPS from pausing for Rain of Vengeance, also slowing it down, and I also assumed 100% uptime of Bane of the Trapped - also rank 157 (along with Bane of the Stricken and Gogok of Swiftness) - which could be tricky to maintain even with Rattling Roll, some 5.1% chance to CC secondaries, and the 15-yard aura, which would slow it down at lower up-times of that benefit.
Here is a quick theory-crafted build using paragon 3000 with rank 120 gems/augments I call the “You gotta be set’ing me” build
https://www.d3planner.com/461931272
Basically, this N6C3A3 build revolves around Vault and Rain of Vengeance. It uses the Gizzard to keep a shield up so that the Squirt’s buff stays on as long as possible (the DH has 331M life toughness + 489M shield toughness).
Even with all those buffs, the main damage component comes from Rain of Vengeance with Vault only doing an average of around 200B damage over the 3 seconds of Trail of Cinders.
For Danetta’s to be viable, Vault needs to be buffed or the multiplier needs to be at least 10x its current value (8000% instead of 800%). Next, there needs to be some more synergy with other legendaries since there is nothing ELSE that buffs Vault.
Honestly it seems silly to base a set or build around gymnastics.
How one does damage by doing a cartwheel or front handspring (not sure what the actual animation is) is beyond me…oh yeah and while shooting crossbows with both hands???
skip to 2:20 to see how easy it is shooting one handed doing cartwheels…IN THE MATRIX maybe
Yes, agreed on all points - skill damage, damage multipliers, and/or supporting legendaries need to be buffed or created in order for Danetta’s to support a build that actually uses Vault (rather than some other skill) for its damage like the existence of the Danetta’s set suggests should be the case.
@PMG: If that’s what breaks your immersion in this game, just wait until you find out that Barbarians can cause ground fissures by jumping but don’t send barrels absolutely flying when they hit them, and at the same time those fissures close within seconds; that there also there are time bubbles, as well as black holes that do not do what black holes actually do; both a spirit realm (land of the dead) and a literal Heaven and Hell in the same cosmology; you can conjure up ghost horses; and teddy bears, ponies and cows can be as deadly as the Prime Evils themselves.
Unless you don’t change the Vault increased damage from 800% to 8000% than I don’t see any use of this set.
You could also only increase the vault damage to maybe 3200% and the clones that mimic our stats and actions to deal 50% of our total damage.
The 20% Damage would be multiplicative I guess, otherwise it’s just pointless.
I could see some rework being done. But since they have announced each class would be getting a new set, I’d like to see a set that involves Vault and Traps, like Spike Trap & Caltrops. Since we have a belt that drops Caltrops on Vault.
New Legendary power - Caltrops gains Jagged Spikes rune (Maybe boost Dmg or make 100% of dmg done as soon as an enemy lands on it.)
The set could have a focus on high mobility using vault while laying down a bunch of traps. Insert some supporting legendary items and add to/boost some that already exist for Caltrops/Spike Trap/Vault. Spike trap I feel like is a very under powered skill. Maybe even throw Strafe in there or something. But I mostly like the idea of using Traps + Vault.
I’m using the Danetta’s set at the moment in a build for the Act V Enchantress quest pool-farming. It’s pretty nippy. though I run this on Normal so it’s not the DPS build you’re looking for.
ok now that we got the fantasy out of the way
how about …
making the clones like the monk clones from the monkey king set
because vexo clones suck as much butt as these sets clones.
how about adding a 50% damage reduction to the 2 set bonus
increase the damage mutiplier from 300% to 500% and adding a damage modefier for traps and maybe calltrops.
