I am hoping for about 2 per class per mode. They have announced, what, 5 classes so far. I am assuming they will have HC and SC. That would be 20 and I could live with that.
I am hoping they are ways to earn more character slots/stash space in game. I know people want them to be purchasable which is totally fine with me as long as there is a reasonable way to also earn them by actually playing the game.

If you do not want to respec don’t do it how easy is that. Why should others conform to your play style.
I dont know what this fuss is all about, respeccing will be practically free for anyone playing the game “seriously”. Maybe it will be costly for the average D4 player, but for us nerds it will be a non issue.
Just look at PoE people say that it has a hefty respecc cost if you were to reset your talent tree. If you are lvl 90 and reset the entire passive tree it will cost you… what? 120ish regret orbs. That is peanuts and a non issue for anyone that is playing a lot.
Will it be cheaper or more expensive when compared to PoE? Cause PoE its very easy to do it. It takes you 30 mins of farming if playing trade league. And if youre farming high end stuff, then its more like 10 mins.
I think we have to differentiate respeccing and swapping. “Fixing” your build and changing out a few nodes will always be possible especially early only when you don’t know where you are going. And even after balance changes once a season it shouldn’t cost you your entire gold. That system is just discouraging swapping between builds on the same character.
I heard from someone who played the beta that the respec cost is too OTP at higher level it just not worth it.
From what I heard so far here, as well as the diablo subreddits. MOST people prefer more freedom to respec. But the loud minority win at least now. Hope this can change.

PoE also have NO PvP & pretty much no MP focus play.
Also,PoE is cheap to respec. Also PoE used gem system, allow freely swapping few builds without touching the passive tree.
If people do not like to swap build, then don’t. Why stop others?
I think THIS would be a horrible system. Then they should make it impossible to power level/boost someone. Otherwise it will just lead to the chat beeing flooded with boost request, as it is now after a few hours into Season.
I agree with JT, make respecs free and let us experiment with the builds.
Yeah, that is a main issue with this kind of respec system. It works like a regressive tax essentially. Where it ought to be progressive.
It is another case of picking the easiest solution often not being the best solution.

Is there any, eh, public, information out there on approximately how long time it takes to earn gold for a full respec in endgame, like at lvl 100?
It might be easyer to get gold than in D3. Just don’t forget to pick the pile of coins up. Also if you need to respec at lvl 100, you deserve to go and farm out the gold for it.
I can see it now: “Can’t the mount just pick up all the gold and other materials.”
I can see some lazy people cry for pets to pick up gold for them.

Well, at least if there is a farmable currency cost. Then it must be very high.
A non-farmable respec cost seems better to me though. So people cant just bruteforce the cost.
I wish they would get rid of gold piles. Gold should primarily come from selling items to vendors imo.
That also would make it feel more rewarding to find items you didnt have a use for yourself.

Well, that’s the problem. If I have a speed build and a push build, or PVP build for a character, every time I switch between builds, it will cost me ridiculous amount of gold. Isn’t that stupid?
Will D4 do away with the D3 speed racer mentality as people try and fly across the entire zone in 5 seconds.

Ok. Then what about fireball build, ice build, hydra build, snake builds… Every time I switch between them, I get penalized by having to spend gold?
By the sound of it you love playing Diablo enough, so yes.
It’s simple. You’re either dedicated to your build, or pay the price for your unwillingness of releveling a new character, that is way easyer to do than your first character.
It realy is more like D2 but if we get enough character slots, i don’t mind.
I am a day 1 D2 player. Lots of players despised the fact that respecs did not exist initially in D2. Ultimately after deafening and widespread complaints, Blizzard stopped that foolishness.
