D4 Needs To Be Like D2

D4 needs to have trading just like in D2, make godly gear difficult to get. Make level 99 max character level, and make leveling start becoming really long and difficult after level 90. Pvp needs to be like in D2 with no rules & no boundaries fight anyone anywhere and we should be able to pillage them after a kill (gold). They should also make it that when you die in the game (softcore) you have to go and retrieve your corpse, where you last died, instead of just re-spawning you after a few seconds. Diablo isn’t supposed to be a kids game. But it looks like it’s heading in that direction. By implementing a report button, with little kids abusing it and crying about how they got killed unfairly.

D2 was a success and D3 was a failure, so why not take example of a game that did well…? Looks like Blizzard would rather listen to the new gen kids that play fornite instead of listening to the old school players that grew up playing D2.

And stop telling me to go play D2. D2 is old and graphics are so outdated. The game is not regulated/moderated anymore and full of hacks. I don’t know why you people keep telling me that. I want D4 to be more like D2 instead of more like D3.

Yes it’s over I give up d4 is going to be another d3… You guys win

I think if I want just that I would alt tab to my d2 right now  And that not even the original d2 team was going to allow the trading from d2. Same goes for leveling. Pvp I think will be more like in d2 from what I have seen.

It needs better trading system than D3 but maybe not exactly D2.

Define difficult. Legendary items just need to be impactful and feel ‘legendary’ to find. The “rain from the sky” is a bit… ./shrug that is in D3 currently

99 system definitely feels better than the Paragon system having played both D3 and D2 within the last year some. I think some of this has to do with the skill points with leveling feeling ‘better’ than 5 points into INT with Paragon after a certain point and some of it has to do with an actual end point (99) that you know you won’t hit, lol

Open world events + HC + instant-trigger PvP sounds like a bad combination from my standpoint as a HC player. I don’t personally have any suggestions on how to strike a cool balance here outside of an arbitrary X yards from world boss = PvP off but it is an issue with the open-world event system in my eyes.

Sounds like you want D2. Go play D2 as its still there.

PVP like d2 - Please no. The amount of griefing that happened in d2 was terribad nor was D2 really ever balanced for no rules PVP. You look at a lot of the d2 pvp groups, they have set up rules and guidelines (that work well and are fun). But no rules pvp like d2, just no.

Trading like d2 - No, items being traded via for real money just isn’t a good method. Loot should be rare’ish yes but not completely so where you have nearly as much hitting the lottery as you do finding a super unique in D2. Legendaries should be the end all either. A good trading system, yes, But D2’s trading system, No.

One thing i dont want from d2 is the trading and offline play, both of which turned d2 into a dumpster of rmt and bots

This again. By what metric was D3, one of the best selling PC games of all time, a ‘failure’?

D2 fanboi’s didn’t like it. That’s it.

The majority of the playerbase for this game never played D1 or D2. We don’t want 19 year old outdated features and systems in D4. Offline mode for dupes and hacks. Third party sites. “PeeVeePee” which is literally nothing more than griefing other players. A trading system which is busted by aforementioned dupes, hacks and 3rd parties. Y’all look back on that stuff with your rose-tinted glasses, everyone else goes WTF?

Lets hope D4 is nothing like it

Anytime I see those posts what a see is

  1. I want every item to be easy to trade, so people can just buy them on a 3rd party site and have a great account without actually playing the game.

  2. I want to be a d-bag and hostile people in public games just because I feel like it

  3. I don’t understand why D2 and D3 were pretty much abandoned, because there wasn’t an incentive to make new expansions over the years, which is why the lvl cap will be low at first (and the map is HUGE).

  1. Why do you care about what people do with their money, if you can farm what ever people “buy” WHO CARES, stop being a winning little B*tch.

  2. yeah, it makes a good END GAME option. and for little B*tches like you who only awant PVE ( " PLEASE GIVE ME an EASY GAME with no dept ")

  3. Diablo 2 is still going 19 years later, while your D3 is being complained at, 3-4 years after release. Big fail. So yeah.

Looks like I found a snowflake…
Got offended or something? Felt targeted?
Sorry bud, really.

You can always play D2 if you miss it so much. I’m much more interested in playing a next gen Diablo game that has something new to offer to the series instead of just copying D2 point by point.

There are many systems from Diablo II that are incredibly deep and gratifying, timeless I would say. Things that many ARPGs have iterated on, and that’s really all we’re asking for. Take some of these systems we love and expand on them, make them better, sure, but don’t completely reinvent them or ditch them entirely.

Also, what does it matter how people play offline if it doesn’t affect the online community? And PvP in Diablo II is much more than greifing, claiming otherwise is just dishonest. As far as third parties go, yes, these will always exist in an open trade system, but as long as Blizzard can manage botting and dupes, which they are much better at doing now, then I really don’t see why it matters? No one is forced to acquire items via third party, but if that’s how some want to do it, how does that really affect you? I don’t personally like third parties either, but I don’t want a fun and open trading system in game to be closed off because of them. Path of Exile does just fine with an open trading system, these aren’t just random archaic things people are asking for.

Offline mode = easy to crack the game = blizzard loses money because the game becomes free to download within 24h on some 3rd party site

You’re the little cry baby.
“i don’t want people to kill me”
“i don’t want people to pay”
Cry more kid.

And yes i am Targeted when you talk about PVP, i’m the kind of D-bag thats gonna attack and try to kill you if i don’t like you… that is EXACTLY me !!! and i really enjoy killing people. Go play some single player games if you’re not happy with that, there is PLENTY !!!

And by the way, if you don’t like Diablo 2 mecanics, Play Diablo 3 for an other 12 years… ( like i played 19 years of Diablo 2 ON and OFF ) your game (D3) is still up to date and still “new”, If D3 is so great, why are you even here talking about stuff you want for D4 ??? when you’ll be a fan for almost 20 years… you can have a word about whats good and not.

I played D2 for 10 years… Liked it for what it was, but it gets old like every other game…

Just wait for D2 remastered, because you’re not the kind of guy who’ll like anything else anyway

Damn I hate being a forum noob, with no valuable input because of a forum reset and low post count.

I only played D1 on release, D2/LOD on release, D3 beta, release and ROS, helped provide continuous input on improving the WD class and community pre ROS when the class was crap and way way more…

Clearly players like myself opinions don’t matter because post count.

The truth is we get what we get and there are aspects of both D2 and D3 that devs should look to and learn from in the development of D4. Including listen to the feedback of the community. Not I wants, or ultimatums like; if you don’t do this I won’t be buying or the entitled posts with one-sided ignorance: just straight realistic and fact based feedback.

Cheers.

If D2 had new content i’d still be playing, everyday !!!
i still play Counter-strike, iv’e been playing for 20 years ( since 1.3, when it was half-life mod ) How do you know what i like, and would like !?!
When a game is good, i play for years and years… And yet you’re here defending Diablo 3, which is still up to date and being maintained. Go play and other 10 years of Diablo 3 you can be relevant and give good points on whats good and not.
