I am great fan all of diablo series…plaing all…very long… please if 44 will be in hardcore mode make fast disconnect from game servers like in d2 or possible to get passives rescuing from death like in d3 if there will be cooldown on disconnect !!!..

I agree with this. There are a hundred chances in a season that can interrupt the game:

  • internet reset (even 100mb internet have them)
  • power cut
  • graphic card or Ram freeze
  • windows updates

And when there are more chances to die because of hazard in place of actual mistakes of the player, it defeats the purpose of an hardcore mode. It defeats the purpose to be responsible of our own death. The game should disconnect after about 8 to 20 sec (so that a zombie alone can’t kill you). That’s also where d3 lost some players imo.

It feels like the d3 devs did not really care about hardcore. Otherwise they would have added this time to disconnect just like in d2. Sadly I also fear it’s again the case with d4.
With all respect for David Kim, it’s sad to hear a game developer does not see the appeal of hardcore (even though he is not responsible for combat, rather just itemisation):

D1 was meant to be a hardcore only game said David Brevik. The devs added the softcore option because it was too brutal. But the game mechanics of d1 and d2 were based with a hardcore mindset. It is deplorable that people see softcore as the foundation since d3.

Channeling and cooldowns are partly consequences of it, where quick decision making and is removed, as well as the impact of apm on the game, making hardcore unappealing.

I too would like a quick disconnect for Hardcore.

Better yet, I know two words that will solve all your problems in one fell swoop.

Blizzard removed fast disconect because people abused of it to cheath death.
i say if you cant deal whit the fact that your char will die sooner or later for any random reason dont play hardcore. if you cant stand loosing a character and the gear Hardcore is not for you

An offline mode would be the most consumer friendly option.

I disagree with this… The problem is not on losing a character, but rather losing cause of bad reason… i.e. the HOW is the more important than the WHAT in this particular case. Either way think the game should be based on a completely different manner

I’m personally not a fan of HC, think it’s wayy too restrictive toward dynamic challenges (for example cursed chests & whatnot) for ex. otherwise you could add stronger bosses in which it was “calculated” that you’d die a couple of times when fightning them, makes easier to create challenges both for the devs and for the players, and lastly but not the least HC is very unfriendly toward Multiplayer and PvP, don’t think that HC go together with an “open world” concept of a game but that’s just my opinion

Regardless - there are other ways to deal with the DC problem other than making it “impossible” to survive a DC… You could “punish” people DC-ing regularly It’s just the devs being super lazy (which wouldn’t be the first time) and it’s simply said = not a suitable solution, I mean there are other ways to punish a “regular” DC-er

Problem solved by creating a character that is completly inmortal on T16 up to GR92 so far

Yeah, solve a problem by creating a nuclear catastrophe that will cause 80% of the playerbase quit the game altogether , that’s a good one lol

What’s the problem with cheating death though? In most games, where there is HC, this is part of the game. And it is still hard to decide within 1/2 of a second wether you can stay in game or if you should quit and start your current session from the beginning.

I am not a HC Fan aswell, because it is too time consuming and frustrating for me, since I always have a “main” char in RPGs, which I don’t want to die permanently. Though I like HC for the feeling later on, when I already have played endgame with another char.

That being said, even though I am not a real HC player, I also think it is mandatory to have a good disconnect mechanic, that makes you survive these situations, where you would die without making any mistake.

I agree something needs to be done with the disconnect issue.

For example put in a system that saves you if there’s a disconnect. But put it on cooldown that only refreshes while actually playing the game or something, if you need to.

Disconnect hardcore deaths is like the only actually impactful negative side of online DRM.

Please stop. This is not another offline thread, so keep your s@%t out of here.
