I have NO IDEA. I was not expecting this. They have said “NO” to holiday stuff in D3 for 10 years now.
Anything is honestly cool. Yes, I would love Holiday goblins

A new D3 holiday event. They did not say anything about the PTR for season 28. The Darkening of Tristram is also coming back. So, we should get a blog today for D4 and one tomorrow for D3?

Of course not. Just happened to se the last ten minutes of the Diablo IV live stream. They ended up talking about having a much needed Holiday break.
No. Anything that is pull out of thin air after 20 years is just cringe. Like oh we forgot theres a holiday in Sancutary we just forgot to mention it, and you always missed it, and it’s a lot like christmas in the real world! puke

Yeah most definitely not. The whole company might be going on a holiday recess or something. Dunno if there’s time for a PTR.

Yes, they do. Generally they shut down all but core functions (NOC), some CS, some moderation, engineering, between Xmas and New Years.
My last company did that too.
Ofc my gut feeling says it’s going to be amazing and has more diversity/play value then the current D2 event. However some appearance changes for a short amount of time, why not? They have a great talent on D3 with K.LeCrone.
I thought the portal to D1 was the holiday event?
It does happen after the New Year in January, but it was created for the D1 Anniversary celebration or something. Not for a Holiday. D3 has traditionally not had any holidays at all and the Devs said we never would. That it does not fit the Diablo universe.
Then they did things for D2R and DI. Interested to see what we get for D3.

Here’s hoping it’s something significant. With S27 approaching 4 month length without any news about S28 or the PTR leading to it, they have to give us something meaningful.
Also I hope it’s not a short time thingie or similar. I won’t doing any gaming during Christmas time so it’d be rather inconvenient if it was something very limited period thing.
If it is a Holiday thing then it likely will be limited. Just kind of how that goes.
If they really did go change the “no Holiday content” thing for D3 I will be pretty happy. Their other games have fun stuff and it is about time D3 did too.
Hmm… So, there will be a PTR and perhaps end to the current season or am I reading between the lines too much? I think I lost my enthusiasm as winter is getting colder now though.
