They did mention a new season as well as a new holiday event. As such, I imagine there will be a ptr announced.
Theyāve cheapened the Diablo universe with teddy bears, hamburgers, gear and monsters named after themselves or lame streamers, so might as well put up a Christmas tree in the middle of Tristram.
Christmas Treants from Act 2 area that was supposed to be part of the 2nd expansion that never happened.
Treasure goblins with Santa hats on that leave behind presents. Obviously, a random object with a chance of being an Ancient Meme, I mean Ancient Primal.
Doing Ubers, one of the bosses (100% random of course) will look like Santa Clause(ish).
Get a random present in your bounty cache. Obviously, another random item.
Instead of wings, or a pendent, you get a Santa hat. Another helm transmog.
Christmas themed armor transmogs. Thinking boots, chest, gloves? Will go perfectly with the Santa hat transmog.
Maybe weapon transmogs. Imagine a sword looking like a candy cane. A shield could look like a Christmas wreath.
Instead of rescuing prisoners in bounties, it can be reindeer instead.
Act One has a Christmas tree there with goodies underneath just like in Orgrimmar and Iron Forge.

As silly as that would be for a Diablo game, yes I would love it.
Mostly I want holiday themed goblins. Solstice themed events would be just fine even. It is all about the darkest day of the year and the light returning.

Yeah, then a month later the Darkening of Tristram. That would fit perfectly. The light was there, for a little bit. That should count for something.

Actually people have been asking for something before new year. Itās nice of them to oblige to fans and give them something. They couldāve plug their ears and await months into next year to release anything.

TBH, an advent calendar in D3 would be pretty good. Log in every day for 12 days to collect free bounty mates, whispers, ramaladniās gift, class sets, etc.

I can see it now.
Gelatinous sire spawns, drops 2x loot per goblin, server catches on fire and Blizzard HQ burns to the ground. Merry Christmas, the end.
I hope it does not have anything to do with S27 and is more like the Darkening of Tristram.
Please let it be something totally new. I do not need any more goblins, mats or xp buffs.

They said D3 team worked hard on this event so i guess it will be more something like D2R, some daily specific Christmas activity and not just some double Goblin stuff.
And they specifically said D3 team was also working on the next season, weāll just have it in January/February (the time the PTR arrives after the Xmas finishes) so i am good with that. They were quite clear on their calendar about D3 but that means actual season will last one more month at the very least

Havnāt posted in awhile, but the D4 hype train has me excited for D3 as well.
They sorta stumbled around at the end of the update stream there and said holiday events but also that they are working hard on the season to be announced tomorrow. I could see that as miscommunication and they just mean the event, but would be amazing to also get season news!

I took it as Holiday event for now. If we get more that is great. I just donāt want to set myself up for disappointment.

Unlikely. Blizzard goes into holiday mode very shortly so other than the (absurdly stupid) race to world first in WoW, nobody should expect anything more than maintenance style happenings. If we somehow do get more than the bare minimum, thatās great, but nobody should be expecting large things to drop right before the vast majority of Blizzard staff go on holiday break.
