I would love them to do something special for D3. The most would be a boost to season 26, maybe activate an older season theme like an extra legendary power from the cube. Something that wouldn’t likely do any harm to the season theme of season 26.
Unless inferno difficulty is around GR130-GR150, our current character will easily bulldoze it.
As for the 10 years anniversary, i hope we will get double exp, double bounties , double goblins and 4th Kanai Cube or 2nd seasonal theme.

I will be shocked if it is anything close to major, since they made the theme so utterly trash and if they just did the logical thing they could have held back on soul shards to have the theme that falls in 10 year anniversary be so good.
I hope it is something like this. Just please not on the exact day only since I am not going to be home and would suck to have bought the game on release day and still play but miss out on it because of other circumstances.
This isn’t an MMO. People coming back doesn’t get them more money. Anyone coming back already gave Blizzard their money.
They don’t worry about “getting people to come back.” This game is in maintenance mode. They have wrung all the money out of it they can.

Never did I say it is an MMO, You don’t see the big picture, having a healthy and thriving game gives them very good “reputation”, the money they will cash in on the other Diablo games as people want to play them aswell since D3 was so good.
Maybe not directly, but when someone talks about your game even after they have spent the money you want them to talk positively about it. And if they say how crap it is they will put off other potential new buyers.
Wouldn’t especially surprise me if the upcoming anniversary went unnoticed before the creation of this thread. As D3’s launch party was described as feeling like a “funeral”, commemorating such an occasion unironically will take nerves, but maybe they’d only so happy to defy those who regard D3 as the most fiscally successful bait-and-switch in gaming ever. Maybe Fallout 4 had a decent chance to claim that dubious honor, if only Bethesda didn’t offer refunds.
I wouldn’t mind a portal to whimsydale from town in every game instance if it means I can get the cosmic wings finally.

I think they had their chance to show us what they could do and we got “meh.” So, yes, I think they’ll do nothing special. Nothing ever has been.

if they were clever, they could fix season 26 in and tie it to the 10-year deal.
Announce that to celebrate 10 years, it is improving the drop rate of EN and increasing the odds of getting an Orek’s dream every day until the season ends.
To be fair, that would not really fix the season at all. Even only having gotten a max of 4 screams and having run 4 of them, they got boring quickly. Being able to run many more of them would not make them any more fun, honestly.
As for Orek’s Dream, the effects on that hurt my eyes and give me a headache, I honestly hope I never have to see another of those again ever. They truly need to give us an option to turn off the effects of that monstrosity before people begin having seizures from it.

Despite some confusion around the retrovision feature being a joke or not, the semi recreation of D1 in D3, Necro announcement and some other D3 things being patched in made for a great Blizzcon for D3 fans.
It set a high bar for everyone’s expectations going forward of course and we all know how that turned out when in 2018 we were expecting D2 remake, D4 announcement trailer or more substantial D3 content and got none of those.
D2s was really bad, I am not expecting anything great for D3s 10th.
Agree. Although that would be at most a “fixing” the season and not worthy of being called celebration.
It is just also that even if they do that, address all the problems people have with the theme, and even if they said hey guys so from the anniversary weekend till the end of the season you also get 4th cube slot/ethereals/shards or some other theme thing it still won’t make everyone think the season of the 10 year anniversary was a big thing because there is already this sour taste around it.
If they added literally any of the other previous themes as a bonus into this current season that would go far to change my dissatisfaction and disgust of s26 as it stands thus far. To really get good favor they would additionally need to buff the screams droprate to a reasonable level.
