Hey all,
For those haven’t been able to play with newly created seasonal characters, can you try making a new seasonal character and see if it’s working normally now? Don’t try with the old char that rolled over. Try with a newly made seasonal character.
Whatever the outcome, can you report back here? Be sure to include which console your using.
It still doesn’t work. After I create new seasonal character, it immediately shows the text in red “Non-Seasonal Hero”. (It has changed since I last checked - before that, right after creating the character it was displaying text “Seasonal” and only after changing characters or logging in again the Non seasonal text was displayed.)
On the character selection screen it is now being shown as seasonal level 1 with green leaf.

Nintendo Switch here. None of 4 seasonal ladders allow me to play even with a new char. Same as Thejackdaws.
Switch here, same boat as the other post. Can’t make or play anything on season. Only able to play offline.
It’s the same as the PC, although different bugs. If you didn’t play Diablo during the off-season, everything’s fine. If you did, then things are broken.
I tried all 3 consoles, where I logged in after the “fix”, and everything works as expected. Unfortunately, unlike the PC version, you can’t just rollback your characters, and I’m unsure if this is going to be solved before the season ends.
There’s an additional issue with the consoles. They are fully locked out of the season. Both the chars that rolled over and any new chars can’t start a game.
Is there any assurance that this bug won’t affect the next season?
No go. Just tried a new char and it still says it’s a non seasonal player. Even though in massive Green letters above it the hero it says SEASONAL. This is super messed up. The game is just basically locked for me now??? Very frustrating
The same for me. Both new char and old char. I am locked out of the game on my ps4
This is the most important question for sure. If it does…

We’re locked out, sorta. Only way to access the game is to be disconnected from internet when the game is booting up.
Once the game is started and play is ongoing, connecting to the internet is fine: in fact you need it to get at the seasonal cache.
Keep in mind, cube slot 4 still gone, altar, etc. this is a halfsies workaround for the lost souls such as me who just kept playing d3 while all this was going on.
Soooooo, yeah. I’m still playing and technically on the leaderboards. But I have a totally different set of rules compared to people who just sat out a few days.
I’m on switch. I’m having the same issue. I get the error “You cannot start a non-seasonal game while local players have a seasonal hero selected,” I have tried making a new seasonal character and I get the same error. It even shows it is seasonal above the hero but has red texts over the hero the says non seasonal.
