Charge us! Altar to NS

I would literally pay $5 to get the Altar and Enmities to go non-season. One last payout from it before it gets mothballed. PLEASE BLIZZ!!! It would be so much more fun than a $100 expansion for D4!

I wouldn’t pay for it. That would make D3 pay for power.

It seems like the Blizz brass doesn’t care about anything but grinding out payments from us anyway, so at least let us pay for something we want!

I would also pay. Easy.

It would be like the necromancer DLC. Something optional.

IF the Altar were to come over to NS, as it works right now, it’d be a one-time shot… People would run through it, and once completed be forever stuck with the altar bonuses in non-season. So it’d need some exclusive non-seasonal options such as:

1: Ability to toggle it on/off?
2: A clean-slate option for the Altar?
3: ??

Reset it with each season end?

Buying the DLC gives you access to something you can’t otherwise access. Paying to access something non-seasonal that seasonal players get access to for free makes no sense to me.

You know as well as I that will result in protests from NS players asking why should their altar progress be FORCIBLY RESET based on seasons when they don’t play seasons.

For sure!
I just mean in contrast to not having it all.

I would literally give Blizzard a burning bag of :poop: if they tried.

This is why we get games with paid battle passes, $100 expansions (every year), p2w, and every other shady ridiculous thing that separates idiots from their money that these companies have done to ruin gaming.

What a terrible idea.

Dang, your easy. So when you go to a mexican restaurant and the other tables get chips and salsa and you don’t, do you start dropping dollar bills until they bring you some?

Game companies already participate in bad behavior. We do not want to encourage more.

I think every single person in non-season would do cartwheels if they were “stuck” with db auto-loot, auto-salvage, perma-xp pools, gear level req removed, double bounty bags, etc.

I have played Altar for a season and a half now and cannot come up with a single reason to turn it off.

As far as forcing a periodic reset, I don’t think that is necessary. Yes, Seasonal will have to unlock it every season, but that is what Seasonal players signed up for.

I get that. My reaction was mainly about the p4p that Leviathan (who I deeply respect) wrote and in that sense the necro DLC is also p4p in my opinion.
Another thing of importance to me is that, true the Altar is free in season, but season is limited timewise, so we don’t really get to keep it. We lose the Altar after every season and we have to earn it over and over.

My “p4p” is referring to “pay for power”.

The Neco is just a character class that’s added to the existing ones. As in, the Necro doesn’t provide raw, across the board power.

The altar on the other hand is raw power that’s available across the entire game across every class/character.

I would imagine that the Altar will be non season next time around, and the people who complete it this season will have it unlocked on non season.

Yes, I’m sure that will be the case for the majority, at least for a while… After the passage of time, that empowerment from the Altar becomes normality, and that normality starts being viewed as “easy mode”… Some people are going to want more of a challenge, and some people (not everyone) will want a way of turning off or resetting the Altar.

It could be on a per-Era basis, since non-seasonal uses Eras in lieu of seasons. I doubt it’d be necessary to reset it though considering that ultimately any NS leaderboards would be dominated by those with it active anyway in the end, so not much of a point in resetting it. Just let NS have its one-time permanent power boost since seasonal items don’t transition to NS.

The funny part is, many of the top builds were gimped on all modes to accommodate the Altar, then the Altar wasn’t added to non-season.

Those people are funny because they cry about how OP the meta build is and there is no challenge, then they are told to play Jade, and there is no response.

I get what you are saying. There is always someone will complain about anything. They could add an on/off switch for the Altar in non-seasons, but in the grand scheme of things, I don’t think it will be an issue.

The point is having the option to do so.
