I wouldn’t pay for the Altar and I don’t think the solution is to charge players for a feature which was promised, delivered then retracted.

Anyways I see all these praises about the fantastic value for the buck D3 has given over the years - but when it comes to adding a measly fiver to the experience some are up in arms about it.
Not that there aren’t issues about p4p of course.
