Someone mentioned a rhykker video that talked about it but I could not find it.
I think Iāve seen it there too, but he does news videos on multiple games and itās shoved into one of those.
Must be nice being able to post linksā¦
Thanks though.
To be honest, I didnāt know I could lol.
I like models, good if they change them, good if they dont. Itās meh to me.
If anything I kidna like not having ultra hot supermodels, even the barbarian looks more realistic, i quite like that stile, it gave it a more āRealisticā kinda look seeing that not everything is pretty.
The forum software uses a Trust level system to enable features. Some things, like posting to white listed sites, is enabled at TL2. Clickable links to other things can take TL3.
Youtube is one of the white listed ones for TL2 I think.
You are both TL2 so both should be able to post the same things link wise. (trusted white listed sites).
This is all very new to me. Never experienced such a system before. Not even Capcom Unity had something like this. They use to have a point based system but that was cut at some point. Thanks for the information.
Very end of the video.
Fingers crossed they fixed the barbarian too.
And gave andy her butt back. And put the statues back in talrashas tombsā¦
Ahah, it is indeed this video he talks about it. Around the 23 minute mark.
@Miss Cheetah:
Out of curiosity, if the devs decide not to change the models and considering they said they want to support mods, do you think it would be possible to mod the characters yourself on battlenet?
I can see that being a slippery slope, especially considering how many people have cheated in d2 in the past. But being able to mod the characters yourself would have no impact on anyoneās game beyond the player client.
It is indeed a slippery slope. Graphics and textures are stored locally on our PCs so are tempting to mod.
However, those assets are all owned by Blizzard and touching any of them without Blizz approval is a violation of the EULA.
In WoW they do ban for using programs to modify graphics, even if only YOU see that graphic.
There are legit or fun reasons people want to mod the graphics - accessibility is one. Fun and amusing things for personal taste is another. Howeverā¦there are negatives. Making changes to models can cause them to be extra large or small in ways that can give an advantage over other players in fights, esp raids or PvP.
So yeah, Blizz bans for third party image editing in use with WoW.
I would say to stay on the safe side, donāt think you can mod things that connect to the Bnet servers. IF that changes, be surprised.
The forum software is called Discourse. You can learn about it on the website for the software vendor. Blizz has a modified version of it.
There is a pinned post on D3 General on how the basics of the Trust system works, but it is old and they customized the requirements for the Diablo forums to match the traffic flow patterns here. So they are a bit easier to achieve than they were when the post was made. New Forum Guide - Syntax & Features
Yeah, figured as much.
I will still hope for an option to have more faithful to the original designs.
Man for a minute I thought we were playing a video game featuring fantastical characters.
I forgot that every form of media needs to sell a progressive agenda and reflect some form of average or marginalized human existence to be considered āokā and āpermissibleā.
ādevaluing womenā by making them attractive. I didnāt realize attractive women lost their value.
Yes, the necromancer is the epitome of attractiveness.
lmao.
I love that you revealed exactly where you stand ā free speech is the enemy of the people and we should only be able to āsit down and discussā if some authority presides and dictates ācontrolā over the ādiscussionā.
Hugely muscled barbarian wearing nothing but a loin cloth and some chest straps and showing lots of leg? No? Donāt care about that depiction of masculinity?
It only matters when women are depicted with large āassetsā?
K.
Maybe its just okay to have wildly proportioned and attractive characters because we are all human and most of us find other humans attractive.
Itās pretty crazy, the amount of harassment people get on these forums for simply wanting the art of the remaster to be faithful to the original. Called sex maniacs, sexists, undeserving of life, you name it. Really sickening, actually.
And many of those same people will be screaming ānO cHaNgEsā regarding other aspects of the game.
Seems like the content could therefore be a bit more suggestive, amirite?
In all seriousness ā a pony tail is practical for combat, particularly when secured by a circlet, like she tends to be in most depictions.
yes, she has a massive chest. Yes she is showing a lot of leg. As you pointed out in another post, the D2 barbarian is also massively proportioned. Itās okay. It may be an āoverdone tropeā, but it is Diablo 2. It is the game that set in motion many, many tropes. Because it was well loved.
Women want to be strong too. Go around asking what women want out of life, youāll be surprised what you hear.
Absofreakinglutely.
At what point has freedom of speech done any good for the modern America that we live in?
Cancel culture. Trolling in the media. Media doing what they want with no repercussions. Defunding police. Rioting. Inaugurating a terrorist into the White House. Allowing blatant sexists, racists and anti patriots to roam freely around our country because āthey have human rights tooā while they devalue and destroy others.
Tell me, how is it going to hurt you that Vicarious Visions decided to make a strong women Amazon. A seemingly mystical Sorceress. An Assassin that wants to wear armor. A Barbarian that actually looks like heās been fighting the tough fight his entire life, etc etc?
If any of this harms you in any way shape or form, you might want to re-evaluate your life. Itās a game. They decided to allow women be expressed in the same vein as their male counterparts. They made the male characters more representative of what they would actually look like had they been fighting the forces of hell for any amount of time.
This all lends and adds to a fantasy setting. An appropriate fantasy setting.
If I wanted outrageously disproportionate and over sexualized characters, Iād play TERA, Vindictus, Black Desert Online, whatever else is out there, where the characters simply do not mesh with their backstory or the world they reside in.
If I want a fantasy setting where females are the primary focus for character settings and development, thereās anime - and anime / anime games do it correctly by matching their characters to the world theyāre inā¦ in most cases, lol.
I for one enjoy the idea that they, Vicarious Visions, allow it, regardless of being faithful to the remaster. Why canāt you? Because the girls donāt look sexy, thatās why. Because the Barbarian doesnāt look like Mr. Universe, thatās why. Because the Druid, a man of nature, doesnāt look weathered, like everything else in nature, thatās why.
Thereās no plausible reason why you should want the characters to look like their blown-out-of-proportion bodies in the original game when Vicarious is offering a much more realistic approach.
Anyway, this went off the rails rather hard. Iāll be taking my leave from the podium for the next person to take to the stage.
sh!tsureishimasu~ā¦ damn language filter, that isnāt a swear word. |:
Look, you have a problem with D2. Other people like D2. Stop harassing people over liking the original art. This is a remaster. If you donāt like the original art of D2, then stay away from its remaster.
