Chapter IV cannot be completed

The Chapter IV achievement of finishing a level 70 greater Nephalem rift on Torment I or higher is not checking the box.

I’m finishing the rift under 15 minutes, actually my last time completed was under 7 minutes. There is no time requirement listed for Chapter IV. Am I missing something?

Using Windows 11 with an NVidia RTX 3070, I am playing as a Necromancer that is level 70 and somewhere in the 400s for Paragon level.

Regards,

David

There are Nephalem Rifts, and Greater Rifts.

The objective is to finish Nephalem Rift on T1. Sounds like you are running a Greater Rift.

Edit: fixed a typo.

The requirement for Ch4 is indeed for a Nephalem Rift, but on TI , not TX.
There is no time restriction on that Nephalem Rift. Click the upper box and enter the yellow portal.
Higher level Chapters do have time limits. The timer starts when you open the Rift and closes when you speak to Orek, not when you kill the RG.

  • Level 70 means the Rift Level. (Which will also be your Character Level, if you  started the game).
  • Nephalem Rift is NOT a Greater Rift. (As @Leviathan and @yessquire pointed out).
  • Torment I difficulty or higher is Game Difficulty.

For later Chapters, when doing the timed Nephalem Rifts, keep this in mind:

The timer starts as soon as you click ACCEPT to open the Rift. (See image below). NOT when you enter.

The timer does not end until you see the Event Complete Toast Window popup after talking to Orek. (See image below). You can skip through his dialog if you need to.

Since you’re supposed to be in a Nephalem Rift, 15 minutes, 7 minutes is irrelevant.

This is not a bug.

The Season Rift Objectives are as follows:

Chapter Rift Level Game Difficulty (min) Time
IV 70 Torment I (T1) None
Slayer 70 Torment V (T5) None
Champion 70 Torment X (T10) 6 minutes
Destroyer 70 Torment XII (T12) 6 minutes
Conqueror 70 Torment XIII (T13) 5 minutes
Guardian 70 Torment XIII (T13) 4 minutes

Thanks for clarifying. IMO saying level 70 is easily confused with a greater rift at level 70.

Well, it clearly says “Nephalem Rift”. How can this be mistaken, when you have both “Nephalem” and “Greater” rift types to select from the obelisk?

I think it means the game level, not the character level. When you play alone it’s the same, but not necessarily in a party.

Oops! Thanks for that catch. I fixed it above.

Because it’s a game. Lighten up Francis.

I think you mean Map Level. Game “level” or Game Difficulty should be Torment I or higher for this Objective.

However, as @RedXBoar has confirmed, they were running a Greater Rift 70 from a Torment I Difficulty. Which doesn’t make sense anyway. Game Difficulty is NOT related to Greater Rift Levels. That is, you can run Greater Rift 150 from a Normal Difficulty Game.

And that’s why I added:

right after the very sentence you quoted.

What I mean, for the sake of being precise, is that it is not character level, it’s, what you called, map level that has to be 70 to get this achievement. Of course, when you start the game, the map level is equal to your character level, but you can get this achievement with a character level 1(ish) when you join someone’s game who is already level 70.

My apologies.

I was thinking of a Level 70 Character joining a Level 60 Character’s game. But, it makes sense that it works the other way around.

I will edit my post above.

Thanks!
