Sounds pointless, especially now that you can gear easily without a credit card.
I don’t know. I was able to beat inferno Diablo before the nerf without having to buy anything. It might even be seen as easy compared to today’s standards.
Maybe Jay Wilson was a visionary. 10 years ahead of his time.

Inferno is hard last time due to difficulty to gear up. Bringing back Inferno will change nothing especially when we have GR150 already.
If anything, just unlock GR150 difficult tier for all D3 contents instead of capping most of the contents within T16.
Less is more!
Rather then adding more torment and GR difficulties, lets nerf everything and bring these stupid quadrillion damage numbers down.

Being brutally punished by terrible, terrible RNG that attempted to funnel you through the RMAH in order to progress, I’ll pass.
Aptly named, Normal, Nightmare, and Hell is more than enough.
I am stoked with D4 having mobs that adjust to your level.
I think multiple difficulties has always been annoying in the franchise personally.
I’d love to experience d3 as it was on launch again but in reality i’d likely get bored quickly as its the same game just much slower.
I’ve been saying for years now that Diablo needs to take notes from WoW and give us the major stat squish across the whole game.
Never saw the point of that from a game play perspective. Whether I do 10000 damage or 10Q damage is quite irrelevant, what matters is how fast I kills things, and just a 1/1 squish would not change the relative DPS. Now WoW did it because they had to, D3 does not as the values does not go high enough with the cap of grift 150.
150 is the cap because of the limits. A stat squish would allow the devs to dial everything back so that 2-3 minute GR150s weren’t a thing anymore.
They could dial everything back and then go back to GR70s (or whatever number they decide) being the challenge, and make the ladder meaninful again, so we are pushing to hit the next tier again VS how quick we get the top tier done.
That wouldn’t just be a squish then but a retuning.
Remember when grift bosses regenerated life? Die & they heal back to 100 lol
I actually loved Inferno back in the day. I think they should have kept with that path instead.
Sure, people complained that it was hard when it came out… but that’s the purpose. In early Diablo 3 and even back in 2, Hell difficulty got to a point where it was cake to farm. Inferno was created to give people a challenge. People complained because it took them a while to farm up gear to be able to survive it efficiently. So what? This game is all about farming gear. Just because you can’t do it in 24 hours doesn’t mean the game is broken.
Plus, back then, the RMAH existed so people were gearing up via credit card.
Bring back the enraged timer on bosses and rift guardians!!!
Or they could just balance the game properly.
Have you ever done these 2-3 minute 150 runs solo or in a group? I don’t think so…
A stat squish would mean that more or less casual solo and group players would have a much more boring gameplay and grind.
