No stat squish needed, but a torment squish would be ideal. Drop it back to T10 and scale the T’s accordingly. Since GR 100 is easy to get to, maybe T10 should = GR 120.
You also don’t need 4 difficulties before reaching T1. 3 would be enough, but 2 would be better.
I loved the RMAH, but they could make the gold cap a lot higher to more reasonably reflect the value of items in the game and just leave the gold auction house. Just as fun imo.
Grift 70? That isn’t even remotely close to what Inferno was. I think it would be closer compared to like 15? idk there’s no real way to measure it but I guarantee it’s not 70.
If they stat squish players and item stats and leave monster stats alone, then we get what would feel like a higher difficulty without having to create a higher difficulty. All the torments would feel tougher and gr150 would be a pipe dream again. Ladder rankings would be based on the grift level completed and not so much a"time trial" feeling.
Oh trust me, I’m on board I think GR150 is silly, and the game was never designed with the intention of players ever getting there.
Players complain they want more, more GRs, more torments & more challenge. A game wide squish opens up the ability to make it as challenging as they want without needing to explain why the game is limited in some ways. It allows them to redesign how difficult torment levels are as well. It gives the players a challenging game, if the developers felt the need to quench that player thirst.
It just strikes me a bit odd, or funny, that (as far as I can tell) these requests for stat squishes, higher end game difficulty etc don’t seem to come from people who regularly run the highest tiers either in groups or in solo.
Is it your personal experience that GR 150 is too easy?
Yeah, it’s a benchmark for some but we can accomplish the same with probably less than half of that number. The higher you get granularly, the less prestigious 1 increase becomes. If GR were capped at… let’s say 50? Going from 40 to 41 is a lot more prestigious than going from 140 to 141.
Nope, I personally want a stat squish because I feel that having quadrillions of anything is just nonsense, whether it’s monster HP, monster damage or player damage. Dial it all back and keep the difficulty as is, wouldn’t bother me at all. I don’t care for gr150, nor do I push for it, ever. I do complain about the difficulty in the game in general though as I was a huge fan of Inferno and the challenge it brought at the time, to the entire game.
One of the problems of 150 GR lvls certainly is it becomes too granular. You can always find the optimal difficulty for any given situation.
Each difficulty in a game should represent a significant enough jump, that when you move from one to another, it is uncomfortable. Asking you to adjust to that increased difficulty, until your power catches up again.
The curve is just too smooth here. Making the journey bland, always the same.
