Not interested sorry, find somebody else who wants your miserable attitude.
That’s what I mean, a casino without regulations.
What are you getting your panties in at twist over? Any money you gamble at a casino has a chance of returning your investment. Any money you gamble on digital goods with no value has not.
So comparing a casino to digital goods IS a kind comparison.
My god people have the mental fortitude of cotton these days.
That’s not, STRICTLY SPEAKING, true…
It’s just that I have a greater chance of being the sole winner of the MEGA lottery whilst simultaneously being hit by a meteor, a crashing plane, and a bolt of lightning.
Both are designed to gradually strip people of their money. Both based on addiction. There are cases when people make money at casino, but they will return and lose it all again, becase all games are designed to eventually make them lose, the odds are always against winning. That’s how gamble works since ancient times, lower chance to win a larger summ.
Yes, that’s true, doesn’t change the fact that at a casino you CAN win, buying digital goods in a game is akin to burning your money, even if you happen to get what you want you still lose.
Yes, but both operate on addiction, that’s my point. Casino faces a lot of regulation, whilst no boundaries when it comes to p2w games.
That’s also true. Personally I rather see an outright ban, but regulations is vastly better than nothing (for games I mean) .
Yup, this is the problem. Every aspect in the building of this game and others like it focuses on exploiting addiction. These games attempt to drain people of their bank accounts using extremely potent psychological tools. It departs from the idea of “put out a good product and someone will buy it”. It’s much more like getting someone addicted to drugs and financially ruining them through the addiction you purposefully installed on them. These predatory systems have no place in civilized societies or their marketplaces.
unfortunately only 2 countries so far have banned DI they made it clear back in 2018 before the game was even being created that it was NOT going to be allowed
Yes, it’s basically the perfect gold mine, and the most evil thing in gaming industry. For the record, acti-blizz has been doing it for years already, with CoD coinds and battle pass. They just continue their slimy business. So In don’t know why people are so active on this topic all the sudden, since it hjas been going on for a long time. You can see how much Blizzard cares about making good games, it’s all about figues for shareholders.
yeah but no other game has EVER reached this level of underhandedness regarding P2W features until DI
i mean $100k just to fully max out a single character
Yeah. I know, for it to matter it must be at such a scale that it’s just not worth making games with the practice in the first place.
Wouldn’t put that at the same level though. Battlepass for one costs 10 bucks, and for that you get nothing gameplay enhancing and you get enough “funds” to finance the next battle pass. So 10 bucks lasts you the lifetime of the game, and it only grants you cosmetics.
just imagine ordering a big mac and they offered you free onions then they hand you a small box but when you open it contains a slice of cheese and if you ask for onions they tell you oh too bad try again in 24hrs or pay us $5 only to end up with another slice of cheese to which they offer you another chance for an addition $5 and the statemnt keep trying youll get those onions eventually if McDonalds was doing this kind of business theyd have every employee related agency slamming them down hard
Yea I agree this is on another level.
What finally drove me over the edge is crap like how they advertised the 5 star gem pitty system. Where you were guaranteed to get one after 50 legendary crests. But their snake like language was trying to deceive and it did. What they meant was that you’d get a gem that could attain 5 stars. They call those 5 star gems. There is so so so much deception going on here I don’t know how it could be worse. Couple that with the hidden item drop caps in game where you’d have no idea all your farming is completely useless after a certain point.
no kididng i mean its like those veggie patties companies trying to pass their product off as something its not where do the lies stop and the truth begins?
we have laws agains misrepresenting a product and honestly how can this NOT fall under that category?
I would love to see some evidence for these claims.
I would love to see where they force you to spend money.
I got one ad for around 8 hours of gametime. Much less than normal tv.
Straight up, supermarkets are the new evil company, how dare they sell fatty products to people with an eating disorder.
How dare a country make up some lottery where you can choose to gamble or not…
In the end, if you got issues, seek help.
There are a couple of exceptions, for example, card counting in blackjack.
Also, for state lotteries if the payout far surpasses the odds of winning. Roughly 40 years or so ago if my memory is correct, the odds of winning the Virginia lottery was 1 in 7 million. The jackpot got pretty large. An international investment group tried to cover all the numbers. They only managed to cover half of all the numbers. They won (50/50 chance at that point) and got a huge return on investment. Needless to say, Virginia and multiple other states changed the lottery rules as a result.
Uh that’s a bad analogy and i am quite thankful for these products but let’s not open that can
